Hidden Gems: Meet Baylie Mason of Precision Content

Today we’d like to introduce you to Baylie Mason.

Hi Baylie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story is far from typical. Many of my peers have gone through years and years of schooling, known that this was something they have always wanted to do or see this as their life long career. For me though, I was blessed to be put in a position where this career sort of fell into my lap. During my senior year of High School I began helping my boyfriend’s mom take photos and videos for her personal training social medias. From there I was put in touch with a few businesses looking for help with digital marketing for their social medias. Before this point I had only ran my personal instagram and that was far from a professional account at the time. I worked so hard ensuring I delivered the best possible content for each of there niches. Once I understood what people liked to see and what got noticed through the explore/for your page I began reaching out to more companies and clients. I expanded my digital marketing to photoshoots and behind the scenes filming. I have gotten to attend multiple events with clients that have ultimately led to mass networking and reaching even more people. I love putting myself out there. My poppy always says my business is me therefore Im selling myself to people, so be as authentic and genuine as possible. Once I graduated I attend University of Oregon for two terms. I knew it was not the place for me. Balancing starting a company and a degree I didn’t really want, I knew it was time to leave. To this day, it is the best decision I have ever made. I have been able to travel for work, expand my photography into high-fashion and senior photos and expand my digital marketing clientele. I am a firm believer in “do what makes you happy” and where I am right now is the happiest I have been in quite some time!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My main challenge with this journey has been convincing small/medium sized businesses that digital marketing is a MUST in this day in age. Many people view what I do as an unnecessary expense. Which can be true if you have someone in house who knows exactly what, when and how to post on a continual bases. Unfortunately, most companies do not have a position specifically for this. I have prided myself in making my subscriptions and services affordable because I am a realist and I know there are other ways to get posts done. Another obstacle is finding ways to reach out to companies I want to work with. The easiest way for me typically is reaching out through DMs but what I have realized is many “not active accounts” aren’t regularly checking them. So I then will go to their website and email them but a majority of the time they dont open the email either… What I have learned from both of these is that word of mouth is crucial! I have gotten more clients by referral than reaching out but I continue to reach out just incase!!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Precision Content ?
(There is another “precision content” when you google it mine is “precision-content.com” , just to make sure you guys see my actual business!!)

My business specializes in boosting small businesses social media presences. We utilize continual posting to build loyal followings as well as using key words and hashtags to expand viewership. A main thing that I believe sets me apart from others is that I am 19 years old and started this completely on my own. Many digital marketing companies are either large firms or have multiple employees working on many projects. Those firms and companies have a lot more wiggle room to hire 10-year experienced digital editors with degrees from prestiges schools. I myself have heart and drive on my side and it has gotten me where I am today. I also ensure affordability as one of my top priorities. Comparatively in my area hiring a digital marketer can be between .25-3 times more expansive than me. The world is getting more and more technologically advanced and I take that into account when I charge people. I will never rip someone off because these are small business owners just like me! I am most proud of the name I have made for myself. I have been referred many times to friends of my clients and it makes me tear up every time. Having a business owner put their full trust into me is that most rewarding thing about my job. I want readers to know that I will always put my clients first. Whether it’s 8am or 8pm I will try my best to adjust, post or create whatever they need as fast as possible. The services I provide are a digital marketing subscription that includes 90 minutes of filming a month, 2-3 posts per week, professional and unique captions, fully edited images and reels and interactions with other accounts for an up charge. I also have photography services which was how my brand began. These shoots are typically an hour long with as many outfit changes as time allows, a minimum of 20 edited images (I saw minimum because I often exceed ;)), and a guaranteed 2 week turn around. I have shot a wide variety of niches from senior photos, western, boudoir, and high-fashion. My newest service is filming and behind the scenes. This was crafted for content creators who need b-roll, reel content or in tandem with another photographer. I am obsessed with this service because it ensures no details small or large are left behind. As I mentioned previously I have worked with many niches. I am not the type of photographer to stick to one thing like western or senior photos. I have had clients form heavy hauling rigs, aesthetics, jewelry, senior photos the list goes on. I do my research to make sure I know how to capture YOUR audience in the way YOU want to be portrayed.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
To be honest, this industry is probably the easiest Ai competing industry I can think of. It makes me sad but it is true. For digital marketing especially I am sure there will be even more ways to type a couple words and get graphics, posts, captions in seconds. I mean it has already began. I think for the filming and photography side, it will be harder for AI to replace just because people like human interaction and a robot doesn’t always know what angle is going to best for the person. It will be very interesting but as long as people stay authentic I believe there will be a need in some way for this industry to stick around! As for trends, this industry will only grow more and more popular. On the other side of what I do business owners will continue to realize how crucial having a strong media presence is, if they haven’t already.
