Hidden Gems: Meet Anna Kondracka of AK Catering

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Kondracka.

Hi Anna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Cooking has always been a passion of ours. It all started when I (Anna) first prepared for my daughter, Diana’s, 30th birthday party in August 2017. A friend of mine called me afterward and said I should do this professionally!

A few months later, she had referred me to cater her friend’s Christmas party. The party ended up being a success and driving home that night, Diana suggested we really should do this professionally and the business was born in January 2018! We cater to small and large birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries, corporate events, etc.

We work with all of our clients to provide them with a custom menu, we decorate our tables and offer glassware, dinnerware, and linen rentals also! We offer delivery and set up of each order or service during the event and clean up.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
When we started in January 2018, we hit the ground running catering many events through the end of 2019 when Covid hit. Covid caused events to be canceled or postponed.

It wasn’t until the beginning of 2021 when restrictions and mandates started to be lifted that people began to host events again. Luckily, our catering company did not have any debts or credits so we were able to withstand the sudden loss of business.

It was not until the beginning of 2021 that restrictions and mandates start to lift and people began to host parties. We’ve been steadily busy ever since again!

We’ve been impressed with AK Catering, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We own AK Catering, a mother and daughter duo.

We specialize in many different cuisines ranging from American, Mexican, Polish, vegetarian, etc. We are best known within the Polish community for our Polish-style offerings – pierogies, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa, etc. All the food is bought and cooked fresh from scratch, NEVER frozen.

The best part about our business is seeing our clients and guests enjoying what we’ve prepared! Almost all of our business has been from referrals only, with no marketing, and business is growing every day.

What do you think about happiness?
The part about our business that makes us happy most is seeing our clients and guests enjoying the food we’ve made. Our business operates mostly off of referrals, so we strive to make sure no one leaves hungry or disappointed!
