Hidden Gems: Meet Alison Martin of Animal Soul Connection

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alison Martin.

Hi Alison, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My original career was in television broadcasting. When my mom died in 1991, my world turned upside down. I ended up following my heart and began to work in the pet field. Each part of my new career built upon each other. I started working for the Denver Dumb Friends League (one of the nation’s largest humane societies) when I gained a tremendous amount of hands on behavior knowledge. I then transitioned to working in two veterinary clinics where I was very fortunate to be trained in all aspects of the medical side of caring for pets. With a move to another state, I knew I wanted to start a pet sitting business where I knew my behavior and vet clinic knowledge would be valuable. I owned Two Paw Prints Pet Sitting for 17 years and absolutely loved it. However, working 7 days a week, nights and holidays included, began to take its toll. I had an awareness of animal communication and knew that was where I wanted to take my career. While still owning my pet sitting business, I began to study animal communication professionally. In 2016, I created Animal Soul Connection where I support pets and their people with animal communication, energy therapy, holistic wellness, grief support and also educational programs.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Other than some of the more common business struggles of fluctuating income at times and also needing to become a ‘marketer’ in addition to doing what I love…it has been a smooth road. I believe when I found exactly what I am meant to be doing…my purpose here on Earth…then the energy around my work does flow just as it should.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Animal Soul Connection?
Animal Soul Connection was born out of my passion for making a difference in the lives of animals. I can honestly say that becoming an Animal Communicator and creating my business has changed my life. It opened up something deep inside me I didn’t even know was there.

I have always felt a deep connection to animals. As a child I never wanted dolls to play with, I only wanted stuffed animals! I would gather them around me and read to them. Most of my books were about animals of course. As I grew, I noticed animals were naturally drawn to me, as I was to them. I feel this life long compassion for animals led me to what I’m doing now. It’s like it was inevitable but took some time.

What may set me apart from others is viewing all animal species as sentient beings. I do not see our beloved animal companions as being here only to support us in our relationship together. Yes, that is part of why they are in our lives…what we learn from each other and how we support each other, but to me, that feels rather egoic from the human side. This favorite quote by Charles Littleleaf truly sums up my feelings “Animals are not just living things. They are beings with lives. Unique individuals with personality traits, emotional profiles, and a library of knowledge built on experience. What you are witnessing is not just biology, but a biography”.

I don’t put any parameters on my animal communication work. I don’t feel there are absolutes ~ for example, ‘animals are here in our life for a reason and when that is completed, they pass on’. Personally, I don’t agree with that. When parameters and labels are part of animal communication I feel it limits the true heartfelt conversation we can have with an animal. It puts human ego above telepathic communication. I remain completely open when communicating with an animal, whether they are living or in spirit. I find that gives a depth of communication as the animal is so willing to share when the animal communicator has no preconceived ideas or judgements.

One of the things I’m most proud of is my relationship with my clients all over the world. I have met so many incredible animal lovers and no matter where we live on Earth, we share that beautiful common bond of deep love with our animal companions. I have worked with many of my clients since the beginning of my business and I love that the referrals from clients show their trust in my work. When the animals covey their thoughts and feelings and it moves their person to tears or laughter or simply a deep recognition of the truth, my heart nearly explodes with joy for them both.

Giving animals a voice through animal communication can be life changing for the animal, and their person. Often, it’s the first time the animal has been really heard and understood in their own language. It opens up a completely new relationship between the person and their companion. Instead of guessing, worrying and wondering what is really going on with an issue, how to help them and how to make them as happy as possible, we are able to find out root causes of issues and what an animal needs and wants. It’s magical when their voice is brought to life!

In addition to Animal Communication, I also offer my unique Soul Connection Energy Therapy session where I work with crystal energy to help facilitate an animals innate healing abilities. I have been working with holistic wellness modalities for over 25 years and help pet guardians incorporate homeopathy, essential oils, flower essences, and more into their pet’s wellness care. Pet Grief support is near and dear to my heart and I have created a one-of-a-kind Peaceful Hearts Pet Loss Program. I have incorporated my certification as a Pet Chaplain and Grief Movement Facilitator into this amazing program, as well as thoughtful exploration exercises. I work with grieving pet parents individually to fully support them on their pet loss journey.

Teaching is a huge passion of mine and I love helping people find their own path to animal communication. I have created my unique Animal Communication Mentor Program where I lead students individually on a completely customized learning path to support them in becoming fluent in telepathic animal communication! I also offer workshops on many holistic care topics.
