Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Enoch.
Hi Alex, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey started at ITT Tech, where I discovered how much I loved turning ideas into real, buildable designs. After graduating, I spent five years at an architectural firm, learning the industry from the inside — construction documents, building codes, complex site conditions, everything. But even while working full-time, I felt the pull to build something of my own. That’s how Cadman Designs began. I worked at the firm during the day and built Cadman at night and on weekends, often drafting until sunrise after helping my wife raise our eight kids. Those years trained me to stay focused, manage pressure, and outwork every obstacle in front of me.
As Cadman Designs grew, so did the opportunities. What started with small residential jobs quickly expanded into working with well-known brands like Enterprise Car Rental, Pinkberry, Cold Stone, and a growing list of respected local businesses. I’ve also been trusted by well-known figures in the Tucson community, a reflection of both the quality of my work and the relationships built over time. Every new client reminded me that the late nights and long weekends were worth it.
Today, Cadman Designs is recognized across Tucson for delivering creative solutions, detail plans and plans that help clients move confidently through the building process. I’ve gone from squeezing in projects between diaper changes and 2 a.m. drafting sessions to managing a full, steady design pipeline and expanding into new ventures like 3D modeling, product design, and build partnerships. Looking back, I’m proud of how far this journey has taken me — but looking ahead, I’m even more motivated. This isn’t just a business; it’s the legacy I’m building for my family and the foundation for everything I plan to create next.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey wasn’t without struggles. Building a business while raising a large family meant I had to sacrifice things that mattered — missing playtime with my kids, working through weekends when everyone else was relaxing, and learning how to balance being a present father with being a reliable designer. There were times when the workload felt overwhelming, when deadlines piled up, and when projects didn’t go as smoothly as planned. But every challenge taught me something: how to communicate better, how to set boundaries, how to improve my systems, and how to keep moving forward even when things got tough. Those struggles shaped me just as much as the successes, and they’re a big part of why Cadman Designs stands strong today.
As you know, we’re big fans of Cadman Designs. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Cadman Designs is a full-service residential and commercial design practice based in Tucson, Arizona. I specialize in creating clear, buildable construction plans that help homeowners, contractors, and businesses take their projects from concept to permit to construction. My work ranges from new builds and additions to remodels, tenant improvements, and unique situations that require creative problem-solving. Over the years, I’ve also had the privilege of working with recognizable brands like Enterprise Car Rental, Pinkberry, Cold Stone, and several well-known local figures.
What sets Cadman Designs apart is the personal approach I bring to every project. I’m known for detailed plans, knowledgeable, accuracy, and a willingness to tackle the complicated jobs that others turn away. I take pride in making the process easier for clients — explaining options, navigating challenges, and providing solutions that fit real-world budgets and timelines. Beyond traditional drafting, I’ve expanded into 3D modeling, product design, and custom creative work that gives clients a deeper understanding of what their project can become.
At the end of the day, Cadman Designs is about service, reliability, and helping people bring their ideas to life. I want readers to know that my brand is built on hard work, honesty, and a commitment to quality — whether I’m designing a family’s dream addition or supporting a major commercial project.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’d like readers to know that everything I build — every project, every late night, every new venture — is part of a legacy I’m creating for my family. As a father of a big family, my work is deeply personal. I want my kids to see that hard work, dedication, and creativity can open doors that weren’t opened for us growing up. Cadman Designs is more than a business; it’s something I hope inspires them.
