Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Burket.
Hi Alex, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve spent much of my adult life exploring different career paths, always searching for work that felt meaningful and people-focused. I’ve always had a heart for serving others—whether it was through years in customer service roles or the time I spent as a dental assistant, helping young kids build positive first experiences at the dentist.
When I became a mom, I stepped back from full-time work to be home with my son, and those years were truly a blessing. As he grew and started school, I felt called to return to a career that filled me with purpose. I’ve always been drawn to real estate—not just because I enjoy a good home-improvement show (and I do!), but because I love the idea of helping people through one of the most meaningful decisions in their lives.
I became a real estate agent because I want every person and family to feel supported, informed, and empowered—whether they’re buying their very first home or letting go of a place filled with memories. Selling or purchasing a home is emotional and personal, and I strive to be the steady, caring guide people can trust throughout the process.
For the first time in my career, I truly feel aligned with my purpose. Real estate has allowed me to bring together my passion for people, my 20+ years of customer service experience, and my desire to make a positive impact. My clients know I’m here not just as an agent, but as a genuine advocate who cares deeply about their goals, their experience, and their future.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road—real estate rarely is. My very first transaction came with challenges. But that’s part of this business: buying or selling a home is a huge decision, full of emotion, and my role is to stay calm, steady, and focused on my clients’ best interests throughout the process.
In one early listing, we received a very low initial offer. I advocated for my clients, negotiated thoughtfully, and we reached a middle ground that worked for everyone. It felt like a big win—until the buyers backed out after inspection. Delivering that news was not easy, and I’ll be honest, I was nervous. But I knew my job was to communicate clearly, stay level-headed, and help my clients stay hopeful.
Instead of reacting emotionally, I guided them through the situation with positivity and reassurance. We treated it as a bump in the road, not a dead end. My clients felt supported, understood that everything happens for a reason, and stayed confident that the right offer would come along—and it did.
To me, that experience reflects what this career is about: calm communication, thoughtful guidance, and perseverance. Deals don’t always go perfectly, but how you show up for people when things get tough is what truly matters.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Berkshire Hathaway is a name that carries a strong reputation across the country, and that trust was a big reason I chose to be part of this brokerage. I wanted my clients to feel confident from day one, knowing they’re backed by a brand known for integrity, professionalism, and excellence.
Within the Anthem, Arizona community, our group has built a reputation for being truly local experts. We live here, work here, and are deeply connected to the neighborhoods we serve. That local knowledge allows us to guide clients with insight, care, and a genuine understanding of the community lifestyle.
What truly sets us apart is our client-first approach. I’m here to be a resource, a guide, and a supportive partner throughout the real estate journey—not someone who dictates decisions. My goal is to listen, educate, and collaborate so that my clients feel confident, supported, and empowered every step of the way.
Serving people is at the heart of what I do, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help families and individuals find a place they truly feel at home.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I’ve learned that every challenge has a lesson in it. Each struggle, each win, and each unexpected turn prepares me for what’s ahead.
