Hidden Gems: Meet Alejandra Isola of Skin Logistics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandra Isola.

Hi Alejandra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
A little backstory before I get to where I am today; I started in the beauty industry when I was 16. I did the whole cosmetology program while still in High school, thinking that hair was the one for me and it wasn’t lol. I mean, I loved working in salons and with clients, but I never wanted to be behind the chair. After 10 years working in a salon environment and waiting for all my kids to be in school finally. I decided it was time to do something for me, and to finally be able to do something I would truly love and enjoy. So I went back to school to be an Aesthetician; I had already learned briefly in cosmetology about skincare, and since then I’ve always been intrigued by it. Let me tell you, that was the best decision I had ever made for myself, and my only regret is I wish I had started sooner.

After graduating from Aveda here in Tucson, I immediately started working as a Solo Aesthetician after graduation for a brief moment. It was a short-lived experience, but one that I needed at the time. During that time I was offered a job for a spa-like business that wanted to expand from being a one-person show to them wanting employees. Working for this small business was quite the experience to say the least. I had to learn pretty quickly if I was going to make it in the real world as an aesthetician without having the proper training and lessons that I was promised I would be given during my 90- day training period. It was either I sank or swam at this point, especially because I had a lot of acne clients coming to my door. And if I’m being honest, I used to avoid extractions like the plague.

I had to find other resources by taking webinars daily and watching other esthetician influencers I looked up to and taught myself. Honestly, that made me become a badass Acne Guru today. Clearing acne left and right, and seeing my clients beaming with confidence is the most fulfilling moment of my career. It didn’t matter the hostile work environment I was in or how closely micro-managed we were by the owner. As much as I dreaded working for this small business on how they treated their employees; my clients are who kept me going during my hard times there. They are the ones who kept me showing up working back-to-back until my last moments there. I’m incredibly grateful for that because I couldn’t have done it without them. However, I learned a lot about what to do and what not to do as a small business owner if I ever decided I want to expand, and I am forever grateful for that experience. It has kept me humbled and made me the aesthetician I am today. Honestly, it helped me jump-start my career after a year with them, so that’s the only thing I can say I am thankful for.

Today, I am a small business owner of Skin Logistics LLC, where I provide Corrective Skincare, Brow Laminations,Brow waxing and Lash Lifts. I pride myself on being down-to-earth, transparent, and providing realistic results. I was fortunate to have a great support system in my corner when I needed to become solo again and hustled in silence. Today I have a more extensive support system than I could ever imagine that has opened so many doors for Skin Logistics. Skin Logistics wouldn’t have been born if it wasn’t for my clients who continue to support me, lift me up, follow me, and choose me with their skincare journey. My small business wouldn’t thrive without them and their constant referrals, and I feel fortunate to have them.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I will say this being on my own rather than working for someone else has been a much smoother road. I’m the happiest I have ever been in a long time, and it reflects the energy that I bring into my treatment room.

We’ve been impressed with Skin Logistics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a licensed aesthetician and proud owner/ founder of Skin Logistics based in Tucson, AZ. I specialize in Corrective and Bridal prepping Skin Care along with brow Laminations, custom brow waxing/ tinting, and Lash lifts. My niche and what I’m known for is being an Acne Guru. I can clear acne like no one’s business, and I love educating clients on the importance of skincare, from the products they use to the foods they eat. I use medical-grade products to target your concerns to give you amplifying results. My treatments not only can they be hardcore at times, but I make sure every treatment you receive is a luxury experience while we tackle your concerns. A deep upper body massage, lymphatic drainage, and a bomb ass facial massage to bring you back to life.

What sets me off is that I’m not your ordinary Aesthetician. I’m very down-to-earth and love making connections. I go above and beyond in and outside of my treatment room. Once you set foot in my room, I am yours to your disposable, call me crazy, but I want to be harassed by my clients, lol. I don’t care if it’s the same question on your routine because we all forget, especially if you have 10 products. I rather know what’s happening to your skin after every treatment if anything is out of the norm. I love to be bothered, even if it’s unrelated to the skin; my bonds with any of my clients are unique and different in their ways that are so special to me. I’ve even had some clients become close friends of mine.

I’m excited about the services I’m offering as I am revamping my menu starting this October. I will offer not just 60 min treatments, but will now be offering 90min treatments along with nano and micro-needling treatments. I target all concerns from anti-aging, teens, pigment, acne and rosacea. For new clients all new clients will receive a goodie bag to jumpstart their skin journey with me. What I’m most excited to bring on is a bridal package for all my brides that their MUA will be thanking them for. The bridal package is a flat rate with no hidden fees that includes 4 facials ( first initial facial and each facial before your bridal shower, bachelorette, and Wedding day). Included are one custom brow wax/tint and one full-size product (any services outside the package deal are additional).

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is not just results and providing clear and healthy skin that’s easy, but restoring confidence in your life. Everyone, men or women, we are all insecure about something with ourselves. If I can change a life one face at a time by restoring the confidence you love to rave about, then I know I did my job and did it right. That makes being an Aesthetician worth all the time and money that I continue to spend on my continued education. I’m constantly learning about the next best thing to serve you better. That is what makes me fall more in love with what I do.
