We’re looking forward to introducing you to Hesok Pittman-Boyd. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Hesok , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I recently had a baby! So I have been very busy with my newborn. My kids are my joy and my blessings so being with my kids is my happy place.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello my name is Hesok Pittman-Boyd. I have been married to my husband for 19 years and I have two kids! I am an event planner. I do all kinds of events and weddings. I have been doing my business for 8 years now. I started my business as an event planner by just doing my friends birthday parties. Found out I love it and has been doing the work ever since.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I would say the relationship I have with my husband. I never thought I would find someone that would accept my body for how I am. I had open heart surgery at 28 days old and I have a long scar in the middle of my chest. I have always had to deal with kids when I was young making fun of my scar and calling me Frankenstein due to my scar and being told that no one would want to be with me with such an ugly scar down the middle of my chest. My husband loves me and my scar he always says to me my scar is beautiful and it is the reason I am here today! I now love and accept my scar because of how my husband sees me and loves my scar.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
That I am ENOUGH.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I would say family & friends. I am very loyal to my close circle. Anytime anyone needs anything I drop everything to be there.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel the most peace when I am
at home home with my husband and kids. They are my peace.
