Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Crawley.
Hi Stephanie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started beauty school when I was 19 years old. I’ve always had a passion for hair but I had never thought of it as a career, until one day I made an appointment to get highlights. I still remember the stylist’s name, Rian. Rian made me feel so beautiful that day. I started to see hairstyling as a profession and from that point, I started looking into cosmetology schools.
I wanted to become a hairstylist, make women feel beautiful. I talked with my parents and they supported me, so I moved back home through school. I went to school 40 plus hours a week and work 15-25 hours a week at Sonic. I was dedicated from the moment I made the choice. I am so grateful my parents were supportive of that vision because I have now been in this industry for almost 2 decades, I love it. I have built a brand that I am so incredibly proud of.
I have worked in hourly, commission, chair rental, 2 salon suites and now I have a 1,800 square foot beautiful Hair House Salon. I have made it to this point by living intentionally and making the next right move. We choose what we do for a living and when you do what you love and call it work, you are living the dream.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I signed the lease to my new space in 2020, then just a few weeks after covid shut us down for 8 weeks. It was a scary time having no income coming in for 8 weeks and 2 locations to pay for. I was determined to persevere through.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Hair House Salon?
At Hair House, love is in the hair. I am so proud of this salon. I am most proud of the culture we have here. We want to be a pillar in our community, a safe place full of love & friends. We started empower hour, an event once a month to give back to our clients with salon products, gift cards, and hot tools. We talk about hairstyling, have hands on models and a mental health topic about kindness. We specialize in blondes & extensions.
We offer haircuts & hair coloring, facial waxing, and updo styling for events. What sets us apart is our team environment. We all work together seamlessly and there is no competition, just supporting teammates. We all want each other to succeed. We go above and beyond for our clients and we want you to love your hair. The relaxing environment of our salon gives you a great feeling as soon as you walk in our doors at Hair House Salon.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I owe it all to god and my unshakeable faith. I am incredibly blessed to have to brilliant parents that are genuinely good people that taught me to be a loving person and to treat people equally. They gave me the life skills to build this business from the ground up. My partner Ryan is an incredible support for me, he has been my rock through this journey and I am so grateful to have his love & support. My children are why I do this every day and are the joys of my life. I have had so many great teachers in my 38 years and each and everyone has given me something to take away from the experience. What I have learned is always do the right thing and you will be blessed. Life is short. Live. Mindset is everything. “The secret to having it all, is believing that you do.”
