Exploring Life & Business with Sabrina Hernandez of Lavishlee Events

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Hernandez.

Hi Sabrina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I turned 18, I knew I wanted to adventure out and try all the dreams I was passionate about. This led me to become a plus-size model for five years. While being a plus-size model, I had the opportunity to travel all over the United States, write a book, tour my book, speak at women’s conferences, and walk in a runway show. When the pandemic hit, I decided to close that chapter of my life and pursue something different. My entire life, my mom has been creative and artistic.

She has planned many events and weddings and is an interior designer. I’ve always had a love for events and planning. I am extremely organized and love all the small details. I started event planning when my best friend became pregnant with twin girls. Her baby shower was the first event I ever planned and designed seven years ago, in 2017. For the next five years, I only planned events for friends and family as I was not ready to open a business to the public. It wasn’t until the summer of 2022 that I launched my official business, Lavishlee Events. I knew it was a passion of mine that I wanted to expand. It went from a hobby to a business.

In the last two years, my business has continued to grow in both clientele and experience. It has been a dream to watch all that has come from stepping out and starting my business. I have had the opportunity to do so many events in just a short span of time. Lavishlee Events is all about the details. I specialize in bringing an experience that is detail-oriented. We focus on the small details that make a large impact. I am excited to see Lavishlee’s future.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Becoming a business owner has come with trials and tribulations. It is a learning experience from the day you begin. You become everything your business needs. You are the owner, marketer, accountant, advertising, customer service, and more. It will come with sleepless nights and exhaustion. You will quickly learn no one will put in as much time and effort as you.

I have learned some hard lessons regarding profit and loss, customer service, and pleasing the client. One of the most challenging lessons I’ve learned is that not every client will be the client for you. Some you may have to turn down, and some you’ll learn you will not be able to work with them in the future. I’ve learned that you will never be able to please everyone.

Lavishlee Events is an event planning and design company. We specialize in detail-oriented events, where we take small details and make a large impact.

I am most proud of the mission behind my brand. I aim to provide a quality experience that makes your event memorable and joyous. Something that you will remember for a lifetime. We offer luxury event planning and exclusive designs with graceful attention to all details.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was a social butterfly. I always had a light spirit and a huge heart. You could find me smiling, laughing, and bringing groups of people together.

I was a dancer for 14 years and participated in many school organizations and activities. I always had to be busy and involved. I was a part of the student government, debate team, and art club. I loved to be in charge and lead.
