Today we’d like to introduce you to Rodolfo Reyes.
Hi Rodolfo, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I was born in Northern Mexico, brought to the US when I was 9 years old. My older brother and I started working very young in the restaurant business as dishwashers at a sports bar in north Phoenix.
All through high school, I worked as a short-order cook and after graduating from high school I enrolled in the culinary program at Scottsdale Community College where I graduated in 2005. I continued working in foodservice and started making my way up the ladder in kitchens of all sizes and all kinds of establishments, from freestanding restaurants to Scottsdale resorts and catering companies.
I’ve opened restaurants for others, been the sous chef at a downtown Phoenix hotel, and eventually opened my own private chef business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been the easiest, however, it has been extremely rewarding. Both my parents were extremely hard working and taught both my brother and me how to be responsible and have a solid work ethic.
Coming from very humble beginnings, we were taught how to earn our keep and be grateful for being able to work for what we wanted in life. Seeing my parents hold 2-3 jobs each made things difficult during my teen years, luckily, I had my brother to keep me out of trouble.
We’ve been impressed with Culinary Brigade Private Chef LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Culinary Brigade Private Chef LLC was born when I brought family, former co-workers, friends, and the best foodservice professionals in the business together. In doing so, we combined our extensive experience, our unparalleled attention to detail, and our undeniable love for food. Ultimately creating a company with the skill, expertise, integrity, and strong ethical practices in every aspect of the business.
We began providing our services to discerning clients from all over the world visiting the valley of the sun and received a great response. Eventually, we were asked to provide our services to clients in San Diego, La Jolla, Los Angeles, Malibu, Burbank, and Las Vegas. We currently work with pro-athlete management companies, pro athletes, and top businessmen and businesswomen from worldwide recognized companies and provide them with private chef in-home experiences, meal prep delivery, and full-scale catering.
Everyone associated with our brand is proud to offer their work and stand by it, we truly enjoy working on our craft and satisfying our client’s needs and cravings.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Phoenix has been home for over 28 years and it has given me the opportunity to carve a career out of a job, it has seen my three children be born here. It’s hard to pinpoint a single thing I like about it, I like the outdoors, the fact that it has world-class entertainment come through to all the amazing venues. The amount of things that go on at the same time.
The fact that I am comfortable grabbing some street tacos on the west or south sides of town one day and attending a gala in Paradise Valley or a fancy restaurant in Scottsdale the next.
