Today we’d like to introduce you to Reetu Mittal.
Hi Reetu, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a woman of Indian origin who moved to the U.S. after marrying an IT professional. In the early years, I dedicated myself full-time to raising our children. Once they started school, I felt it was the right time to step out and pursue something meaningful for myself. That’s when I decided to study for and successfully passed the exam to become a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).
Since then, I’ve never looked back. I’m truly passionate about offering transparent financial guidance and helping individuals and families achieve the dream of homeownership, especially First Time Home Buyer’s. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be a part of such an important milestone in people’s lives.
I started receiving referrals from my clients, and that trust and support have been instrumental in helping me grow to where I am today. I truly believe in building long-term relationships by staying in touch, offering honest guidance, and being there for my clients even after closing—because for me, it’s never just a transaction, it’s a lifelong connection.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road—but I believe every challenge played a role in shaping who I am today.
Starting a new career in a completely different country, especially after years of being a stay-at-home mom, came with its share of self-doubt and learning curves. I had to step out of my comfort zone, build my network from the ground up, and constantly prove myself in a competitive industry.
I had never been in sales before, so stepping into the mortgage industry was completely new territory for me. I still remember my very first call to a client—I was so anxious and nervous. My hands were shaking, and I kept double-checking what I was going to say.
But I pushed through that fear, and with each conversation, I grew more confident. I realized that I didn’t need to “sell”—I just needed to be honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on helping people. That mindset shift made all the difference and allowed me to connect with clients in a real, meaningful way.
There were moments when juggling family responsibilities and trying to establish myself professionally felt overwhelming. But every referral from a happy client, every loan closed, and every family I helped motivated me to keep going.
These experiences taught me resilience, patience, and the power of consistency—and they’ve made the journey all the more rewarding.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in helping individuals and families navigate the mortgage process with confidence and clarity—whether they’re buying their first home, upgrading, or refinancing. As a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer, I work closely with clients to understand their unique financial situations and offer personalized, transparent guidance every step of the way.
What sets my approach apart is the human touch I bring to every transaction. I believe in educating clients, not just selling to them. My goal is to make sure they feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout the home loan process—not overwhelmed by it.
I’m known for being approachable, patient, and honest—someone clients feel comfortable referring to their friends and family. Many of my new clients come through word of mouth, which is something I’m incredibly proud of because it reflects the trust I’ve built over time.
Brand-wise, I stand for transparency, reliability, and integrity. This isn’t just a job to me—it’s a way to help people build something meaningful for their future. I want readers to know that whether you’re ready to buy now or just starting to explore your options, I’m here to answer questions, clear up confusion, and find the best path forward for your homeownership journey.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
One of the most important qualities that has contributed to my success is genuine empathy.
In the mortgage world, it’s easy to get caught up in rates, paperwork, and deadlines—but what truly makes a difference is the ability to listen, understand, and care about what clients are going through. Buying or refinancing a home is often the biggest financial decision someone will make, and it can be emotional, stressful, or even overwhelming at times.
I always make it a point to treat every client the way I’d want someone to treat my own family—by being patient, transparent, and fully committed to their best interests. That personal connection is what builds trust, and trust is everything in this business.
Whether it’s helping someone with limited credit or guiding a first-time buyer who doesn’t know where to start, I lead with compassion, not pressure. I truly believe that people remember how you made them feel more than anything else—and that’s what I’m most proud of.
