Pablo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi there!
My story starts back in 2015 when I started learning about massage therapy. Seven months flew by and before I knew it, I had my license/certificates in hand and landed my first job at a spa franchise. After years of practicing at the spa, I had inspiration from colleagues to start my own practice. I am working to continue to bring a more genuine and positive experience to all my clients. Listening to their stories, understanding their pains and history as best as I can to then customize the treatment. I don’t want my clients to feel like just another number. Thanks to one of my long time regulars, I rent a small office space in Goodyear to provide that neutral and welcoming environment for all. 10 years now practicing but I take pride in staying a student and still honing my skills to continue to be seen as a authentic therapist.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. Before massage school, I was still in college before I made an unexpected decision to look into trade school. My next challenge was learning to adapt to the environment at the spa I was working for. A few years later, my next obstacle was realizing that I wasn’t growing as a therapist nor was I thriving in the environment. That work suddenly felt like a chore and less of a privilege. I also witnessed the headaches my clients would have dealing with memberships they’d sign up for and their terms. Because of this reality and also witnessing two colleagues of mine leave on their own to start their own massage business’s, I instantly felt a new calling.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Be You Massage LLC?
My practice is currently being ran only my myself. Doing my own laundry, office cleaning, and online bookings. My practice is specialized in pain management results from massage therapy and also I specialize in SRT- Soft tissue Release Therapies. It’s a stretching technique that works with our nervous system. What I am most proud of my brand is that it’s been recognized by newcomers as a welcoming brand/logo and that people are noticing right away how I communicate with them to better understand where they’re coming from. They also appreciate when I share with them that I stay learning new massage techniques to provide either relaxing massages or therapeutic massages for pain management.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My only advice is don’t be afraid to extend out your hand and introduce yourself. I work and still try to connect with local business, especially those that could relate to your trade. In my case, I’ve connected with several health and wellness business and groups.
