Nikki Steele Style is all about the magic of fashion and empowerment! It all started back in high school when I would style my friends and family with the most fabulous merchandise. Our weekends were filled with shopping adventures and lively discussions about our amazing finds. It may sound superficial, but trust me, it was so much more! These shopping sprees were our way of staying connected and feeling like we were part of something bigger than ourselves. And let me tell you, as the youngest of seven, being seen, heard, and feeling empowered was a big deal! 

But it wasn’t just about the fashion and styling my family and friends in my latest finds, oh no! I learned some incredible life lessons from my mother and Grandmother, who were the ultimate fashionistas. They were the queens of style! And now, I’ve made it my mission to carry on their legacy. Styling, encouraging, empowering, and cheering on others is my superpower. It’s what makes me come alive! 

After spending 13 years in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, I decided it was time to retire and follow my heart. And that’s when the magic truly happened! NIKKI STEELE STYLE was born! It’s a celebration of style and fashion and a tribute to my amazing son, Julio, who came into our lives and was born in Guatemala. He filled our hearts with joy. I’ll forever be grateful to the incredible woman who gave birth to him. 

But here’s the really fun part – I wanted my business to make a difference. That’s why I’ve curated a collection of merchandise that’s handcrafted by talented women from Guatemala and other amazing products created by women from all over the world, including right here in Minnesota and all over the USA. By supporting and empowering these women, we’re not only taking care of themselves and their families but also changing their world for the better. And let me tell you, there’s no feeling quite like it!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My business, Nikki Steele Style, isn’t always easy. You see, starting a business and figuring out all the necessary steps to make it your own and stay true to yourself can be quite a challenge. There were and still are days when I question whether people truly care about Nikki Steele Style and its mission. It felt discouraging when it seemed like no one wanted to buy from me, book personal style appointments, or book me for style parties and engagements. 

But let me tell you, just when things got tough, and I was on the verge of giving up, something magical happened. I received phone calls and messages from people expressing how Nikki Steele Style had made a significant impact in their lives. I had booked style parties at local boutiques, had style appointments set, and slowly but surely gained recognition not only from family and friends but also from local and worldwide publications and high-end national department stores. Suddenly, all the doubts and uncertainties disappeared, and I was reminded of why I started this business in the first place.

Dislikes: Brrr, those long winters in Minneapolis can be a bit of a chilly challenge! And whoa, the scorching hot summer days in Scottsdale can have you feeling like a melting ice cream cone!
