Exploring Life & Business with Malin Sherlock of Treats af Sweden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Malin Sherlock.

Hi Malin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Arizona 4 years ago from Sweden. At home in Sweden, I have run several different companies and it seemed natural to continue being an entrepreneur here as well. I decided to introduce the Swedish chocolate ball, a delicious little treat that all Swedes love.

In the spring of 2021, I was at my first Farmers Market and it has turned out that even Americans love Swedish chocolate balls. Today I sell at several markets every week and also online with delivery. My eldest son has started working with me and our plan is to be able to open a shop very soon.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
So far, things have gone very smoothly, perhaps due to the fact that I built up the company little by little. I am still home-based and am slowly trying out what sells best and also expect it to take some time to introduce a new product.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make and sell Swedish chocolate balls. They are like a little chocolate truffles covered in different flavors. I sell them at Farmers’ Markets and also online with delivery.

They are prepacked in different size boxes. People that love chocolate will love my delicious little treats. I have more and more repeating customers every week and I think the Swedish chocolate ball can make a name for itself even here in the states.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I am creative, dare to take chances, and see most things from the positive side.
