Hi Lily, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was 13 years old, I started making soaps in an effort to save my failing math grade. My chemist dad taught me everything I needed to know. And! I passed my junior high Algebra class. After all, the real-world application is the best way to learn. I fell in love with the process, started an Etsy page, and the rest is history. Well… sort of!

It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, the past 8 years; full of highs and lows, challenges, and achievements. And somewhere along the way, I met her best friend, turned business partner; now fiancé, soon-to-be husband. Together, Case and I have built a global community of over 60,000 soap enthusiasts who love what’s natural, want to make the world a better place, and crave quality products with REAL ingredients!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s certainly been a rollercoaster! Starting my business so young, Handmade Soap Club has grown up with me.

Through the toughest of times, I’ve always found peace and grounding in soap making. When the road got bumpy, I turned to soap making. Creating elaborate scents, and colors, and making something-out-of-nothing, has captivated my senses.

Of course, starting this business from the ground up has had its growing pains. At the end of the day, it’s just Case and I making soap and packing everyone’s orders. So, when we get busy, it feels like we are running at a million miles per hour, trying to keep up. Everything we do at Handmade Soap Club is done in-house; from our soap-making and product development to marketing and social media.

We are 100% self-funded, so scaling this business to 7-figures, without the extra capital, has been a challenge. But, with perseverance and consistency, our business and relationship are stronger than ever. Through communication, patience, and dedication, Case and I have put every ounce of energy into Handmade Soap Club. It really is our baby, and we’ll continue to grow to exponential heights.
