Meet Lianne Russo Liddell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lianne Russo Liddell.

Hi Lianne, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a down-to-earth REALTOR® and Associate Broker at Occasio Realty. I grew up with real estate in my blood since my dad (Frank Russo) has been an active real estate agent in the Phoenix area for almost 40 years! I remember putting labels on postcards when I was five years old – for the promise of an ice cream cone from Dairy Queen – as my dad prepared “just listed” postcards for nearby neighbors.

After graduating from Arizona State University with two Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Spanish, I accepted a special education teaching position in a low-income school district in the West Valley as part of the Teach for America program. I’ve always really loved processes and step-by-step systems (which are crucial aspects of teaching) and believed this transitioned well into my career in real estate. While teaching, I also earned her Master’s of Education in Special Education from Arizona State University. Then, I accepted a job as a teacher trainer in Pune, India (about 3 hours outside of Mumbai) with Teach for India, helping and mentoring teachers who taught in English-speaking schools. After coming back to the United States, I continued to work in the education sector for a few more years before earning my real estate license in 2014.

I earned my GRI (Graduate, REALTOR® Institute) and CNE (Certified Negotiation Expert) designations within one year of getting my real estate license. As a self-proclaimed “education junkie,” I love learning and jumped at the opportunity to get my Real Estate Broker’s license in 2017, passing my exam just one month before my daughter was born!

When I’m not helping people buy & sell real estate in the Valley of the Sun, I play board games, read urban fantasy novels, and play Dungeons & Dragons as a halfling fighter. My husband and I enjoy chasing our daughter around and cannot wait to share our nerdy hobbies with her. We love living in the uptown Phoenix/North Central area, playing at Granada Park with our daughter, and walking or biking along the canal routes.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My struggles have made me who I am today. I wholeheartedly believe that learning to manage and live with my anxiety has made me a more resilient, compassionate, and understanding person.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My main goal in helping anyone buy or sell a home is to make the process as easy as possible. I’ll be sure to keep you updated every step of the way and answer all of your questions. I primarily work by referral because I believe that relationships are more important than transactions. Many real estate agents work with clients, close the deal, and then move on to the next one; I choose not to work that way because I believe you deserve more from the professional you decide to work with – and that’s why I work by referral.

Working by referral is all about trust. And, let’s face it, when we’re seeking a service, we look for someone we can trust – someone proven, who comes highly recommended, and is already on our side. Since my primary source of new business is referrals from people who know and trust me, I dedicate myself fully to the activities that benefit you most and always deliver truly exceptional service. I aim to exceed your expectations.

My experience is that many homeowners think all REALTORS© do the same thing. If you have talked to more than one REALTOR©, then you probably have a similar perception. Regarding listings and selling your home, it’s not about just what I do that is different… it’s also how well I do it. I use innovative strategies that are proven to sell your home for 4.2% more than anyone else. For a $3=400,000 sales price, the average seller walks away with an additional $17,200.

Regarding buyers and finding a home, I remind my clients that finding the home is the easy part; true representation begins when you sign a contract and continues through negotiation and closing. I take the responsibility of being your fiduciary very seriously.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I loved going to school, reading books, learning, and hanging out with my friends. I aimed to excel in my grades and managed to get a full academic scholarship to Arizona State University after graduating from Cactus High School. I also competed in and studied Tae Kwon Do for 8 years, earning my 1st degree Black Belt at the age of 17.
