Exploring Life and Business with Kylee Duede of Best Bite Cookie Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kylee Duede.

Hi Kylee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Last year, as we all know, hit hard for many people. I began working from home with my job and it opened doors of opportunities to pursue new hobbies. Little did I know this hobby would turn into a full on business. I have always had a passion for baking and enjoyed Christmas time making sugar cookies with my mom. At least one batch included a unique custom cookies mind you, the skills were lackluster, but I always enjoyed it!

Early this year in January, my cousin asked for sugar cookies for her son’s birthday and I was ready to tackle the order! I dove into social media, watching cookie decorating videos and learning from other cookiers out there.

Since then, I have been doing cookies full-time alongside my work from home job and have created more cookies than I can count! I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It is not always easy starting something new. There was and still is a lot of time that gets put into learning new techniques. The most challenging is knowing where to start and the tools you need to be successful. In most things in life, it takes a lot of practice and “trial and error”.

We’ve been impressed with Best Bite Cookie Co., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Best Bite Cookie Co. is a Cottage Bakery specializing in custom sugar cookies. Each batch is fully customizable in order to capture the theme and vision of the event. We have created cookies for all types of events like housewarming/realtor gifts, company logos, birthday parties, baby showers, weddings, gender reveals, and more!

What were you like growing up?
I was a very active, outdoorsy kid, playing just about every sport. I picked up golf in high school and decided to make a career out of it! I was fortunate enough to play professional golf for a few years before retiring due to an injury. When I was young, I would have never thought I would be creating intricate designs on sugar cookies!
