Today, we’d like to introduce you to Krissa Correa.

Hi Krissa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Grew up with interests in music, photography, and creating. I went to Brigham Young University, Idaho, to study to be a pediatric orthodontist, but I didn’t like it.

My school had sent out an email inviting students to try out our new video broadcast classes, specifically audio techs. I had grown up around audio equipment from being in vocal groups and thought it would be a fun class to try. I fell in love and changed my major to communications with a broadcast emphasis, and later added on a marketing cluster with a minor in vocal performance.

There weren’t a lot of classes involving audio engineering, so I was able to find an advisor to help me create a few credited classes to study on my own. After graduation, I got a job at Walt Disney’s Resorts Magic Kingdom as an audio technician. I eventually worked in Parade Central, running the park audio from underground. I got engaged to a US Airman and had to decide if I was going to leave my dream job to be a military wife. I did, and we moved to Germany.

I got involved with a lot of military/church/remote programs out there that needed assistance with marketing, so I got to focus back on my marketing cluster. I got back into my old graphic design and photography hobbies. We moved to a base in SC, where I dove deeper into photography, focusing on military homecomings and pets. I made a name for myself for a few years, but then we got stationed in Utah.

A lot of personal issues happened with my husband, and he ended up leaving the service. I had to supplement our income somehow. With two kids, I needed to stay home as much as I could, but I started helping companies with their social media accounts. We ended up getting a divorce, so I had to find a way to provide for my kids on a larger scale.

I became a part-time social manager with photography on weekends. The next year, I found a full-time marketing position for graphic design and photography, where I focused more on re-branding. This got me into brand photography, which led me to start my own LLC for local businesses (including Get Ghosted Phoenix, which recently had an article from your company with my images!).

It’s exciting to see it all grow, and I love helping start-ups and local business folk elevate their brand and build their business!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a rough road, finding what works and what eats up too much time.

Plus, it’s never a sure thing. Long and inconsistent hours while juggling a full-time job and also kids’ schedules. I have a lot of support from family, so it makes things easier because I know they have my back.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I work with local businesses or startups looking to up their marketing game on many levels.

– I specialize in Graphic design for custom logos, social media content, signage, printouts, and web design.
– I offer brand photography to elevate the aesthetics of their products on social media and the web.
– I offer consultations to see where they can focus their marketing efforts and how to make their buyer’s journey more efficient.
– I offer lessons on how to run ads on Meta/Instagram.
– I also offer social media strategy and calendars.

Over many years of trial and error, I’ve learned how to dive into a business, study its foundations, learn about the audience, find what works and what doesn’t, and create strategies to build trust and loyalty with their community and beyond. Starting from a desperate single mom to what I can do now for people makes my heart so happy… I can’t help but share the process!
