Today we’d like to introduce you to Kizzy Reece.
Hi Kizzy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Hello, my name is Kizzy Reece and I am born and raised in Randolph, Arizona which is about 5 miles for Coolidge Arizona. I grew up in a small town where everyone knows everybody and everyone is pretty much related. Growing up my parents were strict, I couldn’t do a lot of the things that the other kids I grew up with did.
I am the youngest of 3 kids. My sister and brother were older than me so I pretty much didn’t have my brother and sister around much at all. So I would always tag along with my oldest nephew and he was cutting hair at a young age at that moment just being around him and seeing how passionate he was about cutting hair inspired me a lot. So I decided to make shirts for my town so that people can represent where their form which is Randolph.
The first shirts I ever dropped were Randolph-made shirts and the feedback and support I got from those shirts pushed me to continue to pursue my clothing brand, which is called Made. I changed it to Made because not everyone is from where I’m from but also I feel as though we as people deal with so many struggles and obstacles in life that it makes us who we are.
Small and humble beginnings starting from the bottom and learning to network, spending time perfecting my craft, understanding quality over quantity, being patient, and taking a small risk here and there to invest in my next steps but always give back to where it all started, my community.
Remaining humble, consistent, and committed to delivering good quality and exceptional customer service to my customers. As a person, it helped me realize how precious time is and to give only positive energy to the atmosphere. You get what you give you put love in you will get love back. My mindset is open and constantly evolving with time and new trends.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, this hasn’t been easy. There’s been plenty of times when I wanted to give up but I remind myself why I started so it keeps me going. Also, my family, close friends, and most importantly my supporters are what keep me going and continuously push me to not give up.
The lesson I learned along the way is that nothing in life comes easy especially if you are passionate about it. There will be days when you’re broke, depressed, stressed, and ready to give it all up. But you have to remind yourself why you started and that you do have people in your corner that’s rooting for you.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Made Clothing?
I started Made Clothing in 2016. I always had a passion for fashion since I was young. As I stated before I started off making shirts for the people that grew up in the same town as me. Eventually, I ventured off and decided to start my clothing brand and name it Made.
The first shirts I ever made were Randolph-made shirts but not everyone is from there so I had to switch it up so I took of Randolph and named it Made. The meaning of making is produced or manufactured by constructing, shaping, or forming. Having been invented, contrived, and assured of success. Made is not just a brand it’s a lifestyle.
The goal of my brand is to make customers feel good about their life despite the struggles we go thru every day. Made in creative, low cost, and made with the highest quality aimed at youth and young adults. Made represents for anyone that dealt with life lessons whether good or bad made them who they are and who they’re striving to be everybody’s MADE.
What set me apart from others is that I do the majority of everything on my own. I don’t have a team like a lot of the clothing brands that are out there now. It’s just me running the show. I also try to step outside the box and make different clothing that I know other brands wouldn’t do. What I’m most proud of is where I’m at today and the fact that I didn’t give up or quit.
I’m proud of all the supporters I’ve gained in the process of a growing clothing line, and all the people I met doing the same thing as me. The love and the positive energy I receive from every one of my supporters keep me going. What makes me happy is seeing people wear the clothes that I designed, there’s no better feeling than that.
How did I get where I am today has a lot to do with being self-driven, determined, and just never giving up on my dream of being a clothing brand owner. When I first started Made Clothing I didn’t have any clue about where and how to begin. I had to learn how to purchase blank apparel and learn the different types of printing like screen print, vinyl, and embroidery.
Still to this day I’m still learning new things every day. The trends are always changing every year so you kind of have to keep up with what fashion trends are new and popular nowadays. I’m also where I’m at today because of my support, my loyal customers, and my county showed me love when I first started my brand so big ups to Pinal County.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is seeing people wearing the clothes that I designed. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that people like what you created. So I would like to say thanks to my supporters especially all the people from Pinal County, without the love they showed my brand I probably wouldn’t be where I’m now.
Also shoutout to my nephew and brother for paving the way for me to chase my dreams if it wasn’t for them I probably would have never started my brand so I thank them for showing me how passionate and dedicated you can be doing something you love. Also, shout out to everyone that’s chasing their dreams and not giving up.
