Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Frahm.
Hi Kim, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
In 2002, I witnessed my Dad make the decision to get healthier and lose weight. He was very successful with the program he was using and I knew I needed to get started too after having my two children. I went on to lose over 40lbs and went from a size tight 14 to a size 2.
People began to notice my results and I saw an opportunity to help them achieve better health and make an impact on their long-term wellness. Through lots of training and in the field learning I grew my client base and team.
I worked by Wellness Coaching business part-time around my young boy’s schedules and family needs. Most of the time I met my clients at their homes and sometimes at mine. Eventually, an office space became available in my parent’s bike shop.
When they sold that business I moved into another office nearby and started running weight loss challenges. In 2011, the opportunity to purchase a local Nutrition Club down the road from my home became available and I jumped on it. My business grew very quickly as I was able to reach more people in my community on a daily basis. Working my business full time started with this purchase and it’s been full of so much fun and so many lives changed! We started FitCamps in 2013 to reach even more people in our small town.
My team has grown, and my customer base continues to grow near and far. Recently, I had the opportunity to transfer ownership of BG Nutrition to one of my powerhouse team members. She is continuing our mission of providing our community with healthy meal and energy options and providing support and accountability to reach their health goals. I continue to help and mentor my clients and team as I look to open the next nutrition club location and support team members to do the same.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think that if you experience a smooth road when growing and running a business then you aren’t taking any risks.
So no, not smooth, but with every struggle or bump there was a lesson learned. One of the biggest struggles I experienced was shortly after I purchased BG Nutrition. There was a lot of reputation to repair in the eyes of our customers and the larger community.
It took nearly 2 years of consistent customer service to shift the way people felt and perceived what we do at BG Nutrition. There are a lot of other challenges I’ve experienced along the way and even to this day.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a health and wellness coach with Herbalife nutrition. This April will mark 20 years of working with people to reach their health and Wellness goals and experience a healthier lifestyle. I love what I do, and I love seeing people transform before my eyes mentally, physically, and emotionally.
What keeps me going is the knowledge that every single person wants to feel good and be healthy and I have the tools and the ability to help them. I think one thing that sets me apart from other Wellness coaches and maybe even other nutrition companies is that I know that with consistency and dedication to the customer and client we can reach goals together.
I remain available to my clients even when they fall off their plans. I love our pharmaceutical grade, proven products, I use these products every single day and I know how they work and I know what they can do for people who are ready to make a change.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking?
I think that if you make the decision to be an entrepreneur you’re already taking a risk. My background is entrepreneurship. Both my parents are entrepreneurs, my grandparents were entrepreneurs and so it’s in my blood to be one.
I saw them take risks and I saw them learn and grow from mistakes and I knew that only good can come from taking a risk. Risks are where you find growth.
