Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy Blaze Jefferson.

Hi Kathy Blaze, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
First and foremost, thank you here at VoyagePhoenix for affording me this opportunity. I appreciate the opportunity to continue to share my story and be an inspiration to those in our communities. I am Kathy Blaze Jefferson, blessed to be an actress, plus-model, entrepreneur, and mother of two special young ladies. I am a native of Arizona, with family roots here for well over 80 plus years. I am honored to be able to do my part and leave a mark in a place that I call my home. I have been known as Ms. Blaze for over 12 years because I started a company called Blazing Curves, which created the first major platform for myself, many Plus-size models, and other talent here in Arizona. Blazing Curves allowed models to showcase their talents where other platforms wouldn’t have given them a second glance. I started BC selfishly because I needed a place to showcase my talents. Still, it very quickly garnered the attention of others from Mothers, husbands, children, models, and others for different reasons. The Blaze brand then expanded into Blaze Health & Wellness Expo, Blaze Image Consulting, and now a Non-profit called Raising Britt. These brands are aligned with caring for our Health, Self-Confidence, and image, and caring for our Mothers/fathers with special needs children. Being an actress with over 30 plus credits has led me to host a Talk Show called DesertwoodDaze, which focuses on entertainment.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing truly worthwhile comes easy, so yes, there were struggles and obstacles along the way. One of the major challenges I’m sure many faces is that you may have a great product to offer, but because minds are closed, you may have to work twice as  harder than someone with a mediocre brand to share yours with the world. As the founder of Blazing Curves, I was initially working on my confidence in areas where I had insecurities. You can’t be a leader and teach others if you’re not being transparent with your challenges. Other challenges came from being an actress and a plus-size model working in two industries where everyone is/wasn’t accepting of plus-size talent.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Blazing Curves/Blaze Image Consultant?
I have worked in the corporate world for over 15 years in the Healthcare industry, but during that time, I was a creative in Film and Fashion industry. I am known as Ms. Blaze, the founder of Blazing Curves. I will always be proud of Blazing Curves. I have created major platforms for Plus-size fashion shows, which gave plus-size women and my Men of presence a platform to showcase their talent on the runway. Blaze Image Consultant is here for Talent, Business professionals, and Entrepreneurs who need help creating their authentic professional image. What sets me apart from others in Arizona is that I am a trailblazer in the plus-size industry and have consistently been for over 12 years. It wasn’t a hobby for me; I was there because I wanted to help others and see their growth in whatever they were trying to achieve. What makes me different is I have always been about community.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
As an actress, I have been in 30-plus films, leading me to host a local Talk Show called DesertwoodDaZe, focusing on entertainment. We have interviewed many talented actors, filmmakers, singers, musicians, and authors, and we’re now in our second season. We are honored to meet and showcase the talent of many creatives in Arizona.
