Today we’d like to introduce you to Justine Parra.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Justine, and I’ve always aspired to follow in my grandparents’ footsteps by owning my own business. The challenge was determining the right path for me. One night, I had a dream about baking a loaf of bread, and that vision lingered with me. After researching various types of bread, I decided to focus on sourdough due to its health benefits. What began as a hobby of baking for friends and family soon evolved into a thriving business at the local farmers market. My sourdough venture has continued to grow, and it feels like a true blessing to see my dream come to life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course not. I don’t think any one has a smooth road whether it be personally or professionally. We all face challenges daily. One major challenge for me has been space. Being a cottage bakery I bake out of my home kitchen which is tiny. I’m so blessed with the amount of orders I get but bake days usually include a few cuss words and deep breaths. I’m working hard to be able to scale up and get a few items (bread oven, mixer etc) that will help my days go smoother!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Baking Parradise?
Baking Parradise is my cottage bakery that is focused on sourdough breads and treats (scones, muffins etc).

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’m lucky and blessed to be surrounded by a great community that always gets together to support each other. My town is small and without them I wouldn’t be able to have a business. My family is the biggest blessing in my life. They listen to all my crazy ideas, calm my anxieties and put the plans into action. It’s scary putting yourself out there but they’re always rooting for me.
