Hi John, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been building websites and helping small businesses succeed online since 2005. What began as a part-time pursuit soon grew into a full-fledged career, allowing me to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of projects and industries. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with several major tech companies, developing my skills and learning from some of the best in the field.

My career path has been diverse and a bit unexpected. I spent three years as a retail sales representative with Apple Inc., where I built a strong foundation in customer service and technology solutions. Following that, I managed Google Ads campaigns, helping businesses maximize their visibility and reach. I went on to hold roles at companies such as Web.com, GoDaddy, and BizIQ, where I further refined my expertise in web development, digital marketing, and online business growth.

Beyond my professional life, and most importantly, I value time with my family. As a husband and father of three—I deeply appreciate the flexibility that my career provides. Being able to balance meaningful family time with a rewarding profession has been one of the greatest benefits of my journey.

Most recently, I became part of an exciting new startup called Metro Phoenix Alliance. This organization is a business network dedicated to promoting and supporting locally-owned and operated businesses across the Valley. Through this work, I have the opportunity to not only apply my technical and marketing skills but also to contribute to a cause I believe in—strengthening the local economy and helping small businesses thrive.

This combination of professional experience, entrepreneurial drive, and commitment to community gives me a unique perspective on both technology and business. I look forward to continuing this journey, building connections, and creating solutions that make a lasting impact.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Life and business will always present obstacles, detours, and challenges. The ability to anticipate and overcome obstacles, as well as solve problems, from what I’ve seen, are some of the best traits to have as a business owner.

OrangeIndex provides comprehensive web development services, Local SEO (search engine optimization), and brand identity services to small businesses. We understand that local SEO is essential to brand success. That’s why we assist businesses with digital marketing strategies, beginning with a brand’s design.

At OrangeIndex, our mission is to effectively create demand for your brand. That one of the primary components of marketing and commerce. We develop brands through smart web design and strategic content. We cultivate brand awareness and lead generation with local search engine optimization, social media management, and comprehensive, integrated reputation management.

I am most proud of our integrity as a business. We do the right thing even when it’s not easy. We are transparent, ethical, honest and fair. We listen and seek to understand others, and always assume positive intent.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The biggest trend and shift in digital marketing and web design over the next 5-10 years is in generative AI.

Image-generating AI can produce realistic pictures, artwork, or design concepts. Music or video models can compose melodies or create animations. Code generators can help developers write or troubleshoot software. The technology is powered by advanced machine learning models, especially large language models (LLMs) and generative adversarial networks (GANs). These models learn patterns, structures, and styles from vast datasets and then use that knowledge to produce original outputs. Generative AI is widely used in business, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, design, entertainment, and education, offering powerful tools for creativity, productivity, and problem-solving. Using generative AI to produce content can save time, but effective, creative, original ideas are needed in order to point these tools in the right direction. Adjustments will always need to be made with real-time analytics and structured points of data.
