Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Bahamundi.
Hi Jason, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
In October of 2020, I was a consultant for TravelHost when the opportunity to purchase an endurance sports magazine came about. After discussing the cost and the assets, I determined that the cost was too high and decided to launch the business on my own from the ground up.
In January of 2021, Run Tri Bike became an official entity and we launched our first publication and website in March of that same year. Over that time we have been developing content for print, web, and social with a focus on athletes that are just starting out their endurance sports journey.
We have a focus on the everyday athlete since that is the majority of the people that race. We love telling the inspirational stories that are found in these sports as we know that if you see somebody that looks like you or has a similar story to yours that you’ll be inspired and motivated to get out and give our sports a shot.
The content is not just tips about swim, biking, and running but also includes nutrition and sports psychology. We have features called How It All Started (stories written by everyday athletes), Club Spotlight (highlights of clubs across the country welcoming beginners), and our favorite Your Best Running Buddy (the pets that accompany the athletes during their training and racing).
We have partnered with the Let’s Race App to provide our readers with races/events that they can participate in and recently launched Race Reports. The race reports are an opportunity to review the event they participated in and provide insight for other athletes looking to race.
By providing tips, races, and reviews we believe we have built a one-stop destination for athletes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building a business is not a smooth road. There are hiccups with web development, struggles with content to post via social platforms, developing content in a timely manner, and then the finances as well.
I would also add that there are days (lots of them) when I question if what we are doing is making a difference because people are quick to tell you what’s wrong but don’t tell you how an article or post helped them.
All of that being said, getting to Year 2 and hearing the stories of success from the people that have been featured in our How It All Started has been amazing. We are cheerleaders and having the opportunity to high-five (even virtually) is fulfilling and allows us to keep pushing through those struggles.
As you know, we’re big fans of Endurance Sports Investment Group dba Run Tri Bike. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a multimedia platform that specializes in content for athletes getting started in their endurance sports journey as well as providing reminders for those that have been participating in these sports for years.
Our goal is to make endurance sports more welcoming and we do that by highlighting the stories of athletes that are doing things that are inspirational and motivational.
From the mother that is training while also working a full-time job to the athlete that overcomes alcohol/drug abuse to the athlete with a physical challenge or disability. These are the stories that motivate us to keep going and give our readers the ability to ask themselves: if this person can do it, why can’t I?
We offer businesses the opportunity to advertise themselves to our readers through our magazine, email blasts, social media, and website. We can also manage their social media accounts and provide creative services that can help promote their business in a variety of manners.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
If you’re interested in endurance sports then look no further than our platform for inspiration, motivation, and tips.
If you’re already participating in these sports, then visit our site and tell us your story so that we can help inspire the next athlete. You can find us at runtrimag.com.
