Exploring Life & Business with Jacquelyn Grant of Violette-Grant Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacquelyn Grant.

Jacquelyn Grant

Hi Jacquelyn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For nearly 25 years, I worked in a completely different industry as an employee. Nine years ago, I decided I wanted something different for my life. I didn’t know exactly what that looked like at the time, but I knew I wanted to be my own boss with the ability to create my own future. Real estate landed somewhat accidentally in my lap, and after taking some to research the pros and cons, I decided to go all in. I earned my real estate license in 2016 and began working with Keller William Arizona Realty. Over the years, I have met so many incredible people, and am so happy I made the choice to change careers. In 2019 I was honored to become a member of the ALC (Agent Leadership Council) with Keller Williams as their Culture Committee Chair. Along with my committee, we worked to help not only our agents, but also our local community. I held that role for 3 years before I decided it was time to hand the baton over to someone else. Also in 2019, I went back to school and earned my Broker’s license, and have subsequently earned my GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), and MRP (Military Relocation Professional) designations.
During the Covid era, I teamed up with an incredible agent, Nicole Violette, and in 2021, we created the Violette-Grant Group. We have a small, but mighty, team of highly professional agents that work together to best serve our clients all over the Valley of the Sun. In late 2022, we decided as a team it was time for a change, and we moved our company over to Launch Real Estate. Launch has since been purchased and now we are called Compass. The great thing about this is we now have a network of agents nationwide that we can connect and work with. So if our client needs to move out of state, we have the ability to help them find a high qualified agent in that area.
I am a native of the Valley, born and raised in Scottsdale. I went to the local public schools and my husband, Eddie, and I have raised our 3 children here. I was a worship leader with my church for 20 years, and still love to sing to this day. I have watched the Valley grow and change dramatically since the 1970’s which is helpful knowledge when showing new clients around the different cities. We are blessed to live here, and can’t imagine being anywhere else.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest struggle has been learning to deal with different markets, and how to best pivot when those markets happen. There is no guaranteed income as a real estate agent, so as with any business, you have to continue to grow and adapt to the circumstances around you. One recent challenge has been the vast amount of misinformation the media has been putting out about the recent NAR lawsuit, and what it means for buyers and sellers. We have spent a lot of time re-educating our clients as to what the true changes were, and how it impacts (or doesn’t impact) them as clients. Another huge challenge was, shortly after Nicci and I partnered as agents, she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. She had to stop work for a period of time in order to take care of her health needs. It has been incredibly emotional rollercoaster. She is absolutely my hero watching her face things head on while still taking care of the people she loves. She is truly an inspiration and is currently doing great. I would not be the agent I am today had we not met and built a team together.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Violette-Grant Group ?
I am an Associate Broker based in Scottsdale, Arizona, with deep roots in the Valley. As a native of the region, I possess a unique and intimate understanding of the local real estate landscape. My commitment to my clients goes beyond the transaction, and I strive to be a valuable resource and trusted partner throughout the entire real estate journey. I specialize in residential and new construction real estate, and work with buyers, sellers, and investors alike.

I have a passion for helping people achieve their homeownership dreams, and combine my market expertise with a genuine desire to create lasting connections. I understand that buying or selling a home is a significant life event, and approach each transaction with the utmost care and attention to detail.

What sets me apart, and what I am most proud of, is my dedication to going beyond the sale. I don’t look at it as just closing deals. I work to build relationships with people. I take the time to understand the individual needs and aspirations of my clients, ensuring that they are not just satisfied with the transaction, but truly delighted with the entire experience. I strive to become a go-to resource for those navigating the real estate market, and a continued resource for them after the sale as well. I don’t just view my clients as business transactions; they truly become friends. I absolutely love when I can get together with a past client for lunch or a happy hour just to catch up.

I also host several community events that I invite current and past clients to along with members of my local community which include my community Pumpkin Patch, which we just held our 7th annual event, Thanksgiving Pie giveaways, and summer water drives. We have also done toy and school supply drives in the past. This is my way of giving back to the community I grew up in.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
We are currently in a market shift. Our market has slowed in 2024 partially due to interest rates being higher than they have been, partially because of inflation, and partially because the market naturally goes through cycles. We are currently experiencing a slower cycle for sellers in terms of days on market. After several years of a super hot sellers market, buyers now in a stronger position when it comes to negotiations. Right now, we are seeing sellers offer more concessions to buyers so they may have their rate bought down, or taking less than asking price.. It really is a great time for buyers, best we have seen in many years. It will surely shift again in the future, and the thought many are having is if rates come down in 2025, we could see an influx of buyers entering the market again. This potentially could create another sellers market. Most agents would love to have a crystal ball to know exactly what is going to happen. Unfortunately, we don’t and so we have to keep close eyes on the current trends to stay on top of the market as it is ever changing.
