Exploring Life & Business with Hyacinth Powell-McCall of Hyacinth’s Holistic Health

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hyacinth Powell-McCall.

Hyacinth Powell-McCall

Hyacinth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My work didn’t begin as a business idea — it began in my own healing. For years I moved through life doing what many women do: holding space for everyone else, carrying heavy experiences in silence, and pushing past my own needs. Eventually, I reached a point of deep breaking-open — the kind that forces you to choose healing over survival mode. My journey wasn’t linear. It involved therapy, somatic practices, mindfulness, movement, time on mountain trails, and a lot of honest self-reflection. In reconnecting with my voice, my body, and my intuition, I realized something powerful: I wasn’t just healing for myself. I was gathering tools I would one day use to guide others.
Every chapter of my personal and professional life — from my years in education to leading wellness programs and community experiences — served as experiential learning. Slowly, I began to see the shape of something larger forming. What started as my healing journey transformed into the foundation for my signature programs and my entire holistic practice.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all — and honestly, I don’t think it was meant to be. My path has been shaped by the very challenges I now help others navigate. The road included seasons where I felt disconnected from my own voice, moments of burnout from constantly holding space for others, and periods of deep personal healing that required me to slow down, surrender, and rebuild from the inside out.
One of the biggest struggles was learning to give myself the same grace and compassion I so freely give to others. As a former educator and lifelong caregiver, I was conditioned to be strong, to keep going, to prioritize everyone else’s needs first. Unlearning that habit — and giving myself permission to heal — was one of the hardest lessons of my life.
There were moments when imposter syndrome tried to silence me.
Moments when I questioned whether I was ready to lead spaces on embodiment, voice, and healing while still navigating my own.
And moments when stepping into entrepreneurship felt overwhelming, especially without a roadmap or a large platform to lean on.
But what I’ve learned is that the struggles weren’t detours — they were the curriculum.
Every challenge deepened my work.
Every setback strengthened my intuition.
Every healing milestone became a tool I now share with the women and girls I serve.
The path wasn’t smooth, but it was purposeful. And I’m grateful for every twist, because it shaped the authenticity, empathy, and grounded leadership that define my practice today.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At the heart of my is a simple but powerful mission: to help girls and women reconnect with their voice, their body, and their inner wisdom.
My business is rooted in holistic wellness, somatic awareness, and empowerment-based education. Through my programs, retreats, and community offerings, I create spaces where people feel seen, grounded, and safe to express their most authentic selves.
What I Do & What I’m Known For
I specialize in embodied healing and experiential learning. My work blends:
Somatic movement and body awareness practices
Mindfulness and grounding rituals
Creative expression and storytelling
Youth empowerment programming
Outdoor experiences such as guided hikes and glamping retreats
Holistic techniques that honor the mind-body-spirit connection
Whether it’s through a girls’ empowerment camp, a women’s retreat, or one of my signature workshops, my focus is always on helping people return to themselves.
My Signature Offerings
Lift Every Voice – An empowerment program designed to help middle and high school girls strengthen their voice, confidence, writing, and self-expression.
Sacred Rituals: Body Awareness & Somatic Movement – A practice that invites women into deeper embodiment, nervous system regulation, and “wild woman” awakening through ritual and movement.
MAJ Therapy – A holistic framework that integrates mindfulness, awareness, and transformative journeywork to support long-term healing.
Hykes 4 Healin’ & Wellness Retreats – Outdoor, nature-based experiences that blend hiking, mindfulness, and community connection.
Each offering was born organically through my own transformational journey, and each one carries the energy of authenticity, intention, and lived experience.
What Sets My Brand Apart
What makes my work different is the combination of embodied wisdom, lived experience, and educational leadership behind it. I don’t teach from theory alone — I teach from a path I personally walked.
My approach is:
Holistic (mind, body, spirit)
Trauma-informed
Intuitively guided
Culturally grounded and inclusive
Rooted in genuine connection and community
I meet people where they are.
I create spaces that feel sacred, welcoming, and real.
And I guide transformation through both movement and meaning.

What I’m Most Proud of
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that my work has remained authentic.
I’ve built programs that honor real stories, real emotions, and real people — not trends or surface-level wellness.
I’m proud that girls find their voice again in my workshops.
That women reclaim their bodies and their power in my retreats.
And that communities come together to heal, breathe, and rise.

What I Want Readers to Know
My business is more than a service — it’s a sacred offering.
Whether you are a parent seeking support for your daughter, a woman longing for connection and grounding, or a community partner interested in meaningful wellness experiences, my practice exists to hold space for your healing, your voice, and your transformation.
Every program, every retreat, every hike, every workshop is crafted with intention, compassion, and a deep understanding that healing is not a destination — it’s a journey we take together.

What are your plans for the future?
The future of my work is rooted in expansion, collaboration, and deepened impact. I’m stepping into a season where my programs, retreats, and community offerings are growing in both reach and intention. One of my biggest focuses is expanding our women’s wellness retreats and glamping experiences—creating more immersive, nature-centered spaces where women can reconnect to their bodies, their intuition, and their “wild woman” energy. These retreats blend somatic movement, ritual, rest, and community, and I’m excited to bring them to new locations throughout Arizona and beyond.
I’m also strengthening and scaling my youth empowerment program, Lift Every Voice, with the goal of serving more middle and high school girls through schools, community partnerships, and summer empowerment camps. I believe deeply in the power of voice work for young girls, and I’m committed to making this program more accessible to families and organizations that need it most.
Another big shift is the continued development of MAJ Therapy, my holistic mind–awareness–journey framework. I’m exploring ways to expand this offering into small-group sessions, virtual experiences, and collaborations with mental wellness practitioners who share a trauma-informed, body-centered philosophy.
On the business side, I’m building partnerships with local organizations, healers, and wellness leaders to bring more culturally grounded, inclusive healing spaces to our communities. Collaboration is a huge part of my next chapter.
Ultimately, what I’m most looking forward to is creating more opportunities for transformation—more sacred circles, more leadership development for girls, more movement-based healing for women, more shared stories, and more spaces where people feel safe to come home to themselves.
The changes ahead aren’t just about growth; they’re about alignment.
Every new offering is being created with intention, authenticity, and a deep commitment to holistic wellness.
This next chapter is about stepping fully into my purpose and expanding the work that has already begun changing lives.
