Exploring Life & Business with Helen Krsul of True Life Harmony

Today we’d like to introduce you to Helen Krsul.

Hi Helen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.

True Life Harmony is about balance and alignment between your thoughts and everyday actions. I created True Life Harmony when I realized the power of hypnotherapy and its ability to update your underlying thoughts. What you focus your thoughts on determines how you feel and how you act. If you focus on what you can’t do, how you won’t feel good, or what’s not possible for you, the outcome will not be the positive result you desire. This is true even if you’re incredibly motivated and work hard,

Your thoughts are the foundation of your actions. When you make adjustments to thoughts that plague you instead of pushing you forward, your actions change. So does your ability to thrive.

As a child, you learn how to interact with others from parents, relatives, teachers, and those close to you. For me, it resulted in several non-beneficial traits, such as anxiety, stress, and even anger. As a parent, I went through a period where I struggled with three young children and a husband who travels for work. I struggled daily with a feeling of inadequacy. I knew I could do better, feel better, and enjoy my life more, I just needed to figure out how. It began with personal development books. I came across a book that described how to “talk” to your brain. I tried it and it worked! This was a revelation for me and sent me down the hypnotherapy rabbit hole.

Once I realized how much quicker it is to transform thoughts followed by a change in actions, I knew I had to share it with others. I came to understand the difference hypnotherapy makes to reworking perceptions from the past and how it creates different feelings about trauma so it no longer affects today’s actions. I felt I was given an opportunity to help others with the skills I’d acquired.

After I attended formal training, I received my Certification as a Certified Hypnotherapist (CHt). Additional work continued with a course on PTSD and trauma. This was followed by more in-depth research on the brain. I wanted to find out why hypnotherapy can so easily change a habit, a thought, or an action in a few sessions. It included a study of the brain and how it functions at a basic level. I currently follow podcasts and read books and research sleep, trauma, how emotions are formed, and more. I’m still on the journey of how it works.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

As always, there are struggles to start a business. I officially opened my doors in 2019, shortly before everything closed. It began with family, friends, and referrals online. Once my local area began to open back up, I set up an in-person office in Mesa, AZ. It took time to get my name out, attract local clients, figure out a good flow, the right paperwork, and all the little details of being in business. Being an LLC has a big learning curve. I joined the Mesa Chamber of Commerce and began networking as a way to become more visible and get to know other businesses in the area. I feel like I still have more to learn. It has been made easier thanks to the Mesa Business Builder and with the help and resources of the Mesa Chamber.

The main hurdle has been awareness and education of what hypnotherapy is and how it can be used to transform your life. When people hear hypnotherapy or hypnosis they often think of what is shown in movies or stage shows. I often get asked if I’m going to make them cluck like a chicken. My response is, “only if you want me to.” But it’s not something I actually do in my practice.

Everything we do is based on how we think. This quote by Henry Ford sums it up, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t – you’re right.”

Your thoughts are the foundation of who you are, what you believe, how you act, and what you achieve in your life. Your ‘conscious’ thoughts are what you’re aware of at the moment. Your “subconscious” is everything else. I refer to it as your ‘memory plus’. Your memory is Information you learned through practice, such as in school, playing sports or musical instruments, at work, how socializing or cooking dinner, The plus is for all the actions your body takes to run itself. Movements, breathing, digestion, muscle movements, and more.

Subconscious thoughts learned long ago can pop into your conscious awareness and stop you from doing what you really want to do. Those thoughts can hinder your performance or ability to enjoy the moment. Thoughts that tell you you’re not capable, you can’t learn anything new, you won’t meet the requirements, you’re depressed, you’ll always struggle, it’s someone else’s fault, and so on.

As a hypnotherapist, it’s my goal to help you shift your current subconscious thoughts, and your current mindset about your life to the thoughts you desire. Feel the excitement when you wake up, increase your confidence and motivation, knowing you will accomplish your goals. Your goals can be anything, learn a new language, feel good about yourself, travel, increase self-confidence, enjoy time with family and friends, the list is endless. There are always unexpected events, why not use those events to increase your learning instead of frustration? Use the information adversity brings to make a different decision to feel different about yourself and your day.

We’ve been impressed with True Life Harmony, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

True Life Harmony specializes in trauma-based hypnotherapy. As a USAF Veteran, my desire to engage and work with the Veteran community has guided my work. Being aware of the sacrifice Veterans make on a first-hand basis inspired me to do a deep dive into trauma-related issues. In many situations, a problem or struggle today is the result of an event or series of events from an earlier time in your life.

A trauma to you may not be a trauma to someone else, but in all cases, it affects a client who struggles to cope on a regular basis. The result may be a constant feeling of stress, anxiety, depression, anger, or loneliness. It can also show up in poor weight regulation, illness, excessive drinking, smoking, overuse of medications, or a lack of motivation and confidence. It also manifests in relationships with friends, family, spouses, and kids.

Hypnotherapy uses a combination of relaxation and focuses to guide a client through a series of suggestions in order to transform their current thoughts. Relaxation is used to create an environment that allows a client to focus internally. Our goal is for the client to be aware of how their body feels, and where their thoughts are focused, and to work with them to bring past experiences to the present so they can be dealt with now.

The client makes the shift in their thoughts as they follow the suggestions during the process. The client does the work. We simply guide them through the session to bring up the thoughts, feelings, and interactions necessary to create the shift they desire.

Each session lasts between 60-90 minutes. Every session is tailored based on a discussion before the session starts and the information revealed during the session. The main job of your brain is to protect you. Nothing in the session will arise that you are not ready or able to handle. Many times the thoughts you never wanted to deal with are what create the shift to the life you desire.

At True Life Harmony we use different hypnotherapy techniques to create an Accelerated Shift, a transformation, from your current thoughts and actions. We work together to update your thoughts to meet your needs and sync your actions to match your desires.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?

There are always so many people to thank regardless of the size of the encouragement and support. It all makes a difference. The first would have to be my parents and siblings. The environment I grew up in kick started my desire and motivation to succeed. It provided the drive to learn, strive, and grow as a person throughout my life. Next is certainly my husband and kids. Their interest in what I’m doing and excitement at my success along the way inspires me to continue the journey.

Also to my aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends who’ve been willing to listen and allow me to try different techniques during all of my learning phases. The final shout-out goes to all my clients who continually challenge me to find new and creative ways to be a better hypnotherapist. Their feedback and appreciation of the results fuel my growth and desire to improve.
