Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Nicole
Hi Erika, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I suffered with anorexia starting back in 2018. My life was totally out of control and my food habit was the one thing I could control. I had a lack of purpose. I was angry, and never motivated to accomplish more I isolated myself from the world because being skinnier was more important than my social life and I realized I was so numb to it all – I didn’t even see the problem. I also used food to manage my emotions, which is where the binge eating started to emerge. I would start inhaling sweets because it made me feel good amidst moments of stress and anxiety. Everything changed when I saw the super-fit girl my boyfriend (at the time) was cheating on me with and that was the final straw. I no longer wanted to be the weak woman I saw myself as. I needed to be strong enough to leave the abusive relationship I was in, and gain control of my life (the healthy way). So, I hired a coach, walked in and said: “I don’t care what I look like, but I want to be mentally strong so the physical things won’t be so hard.” That day, the day that I chose to ask for help, is when everything changed. Now, I: have put on 20lbs of strength (the visual kind, and physical kind lol) , hip thrusting 535lb (515lb more than when I started) , have control over my relationship with food and I am more confident, and feel more worthy than I ever have. Most importantly, it’s defined my purpose, to help other women discover what worthy feels like, and love every ounce of the power it brings.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been an easy road but I just had to remind myself that not everyone will get it but they don’t have to just learning to trust yourself and the process. A lot of people, family and close friends had a lot of doubts of me leaving ultrasound.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Soul Fitness?
