Exploring Life & Business with Erik Banks of Mobile METAL Medics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erik Banks.

Hi Erik, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I actually started welding back in 9th grade. I went to Red Mountain High School, which had a four-year welding program. Pretty unique, since most schools only offer two years. I’ve always loved creating and building things, and welding just fascinated me from the start. I took every welding class I could, all four years, and during my last two years I was even helping other students while earning my certifications. That early foundation gave me both the skills and the confidence to turn welding into a career.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any business, there have definitely been challenges, but nothing I couldn’t work through. Honestly, the hardest part hasn’t been the welding itself, it’s been learning how to run a business. Starting something from scratch and figuring out how to manage clients, operations, and growth. That’s been a whole new education alongside my trade. It’s going great now, but those early lessons definitely pushed me to grow just as much as the welding itself.

As you know, we’re big fans of Mobile METAL Medics. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Mobile METAL Medics is a fully mobile welding and fabrication business based here in Arizona. I come directly to my customers . Whether that’s at their home, jobsite, or business. I show up with everything needed to handle repairs, fabrication, or custom builds on the spot. What really sets Mobile METAL Medics apart is I combine the precision and professionalism of a shop with the convenience of being mobile.

I specialize in a wide range of services, from fence and gate repairs to trailer fixes, custom fabrication projects, shade structures, and even construction welding. Recently, I’ve also been expanding into new areas like solar. No matter the job, the goal is always the same: clean welds, strong builds, and a happy customer!

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation I’m building around quality and trust. Welding is more than just putting metal together. It’s about safety, durability, and creating something people can rely on every day. My customers know when they call Mobile METAL Medics, they’re getting fair pricing, fast turnaround, and craftsmanship I stand behind 100%.

At the end of the day, I want readers to know I’m not just fixing metal. I’m helping people protect their property, keep their equipment running, and bring their ideas to life. And I do it with the flexibility of meeting them where they’re at.
