Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellen Haines.
Hi Ellen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
There was a time when I appeared to have it all together, but on the inside, I was struggling.
I was working in corporate tech – climbing the ladder, chasing promotion after promotion while teaching yoga in my spare time. If you saw me you’d think that I was a happy, successful, healthy woman in her late 20s with a good job and a great life.
If you took a look inside my brain you’d see constant self-doubt, negative talk, and anxiety. I wasn’t sleeping at night. Everything stressed me out. One cryptic email from my boss would send me into detective mode and I’d spend the whole day picking apart everything they said, wondering what I did wrong.
No matter how many promotions I got, or how many goals I accomplished…nothing felt good enough. Maybe you can relate to that? Where you’ve painted a picture that everything is great but internally you’re just trying to keep your head above water. Now I look in the mirror and I actually like the person I see. I sleep through the night. The voice inside of my head feels more like a friend or a cheerleader instead of a drill sergeant.
I can handle the demands of life with ease and flow and feel happy… not because I got a promotion or a new car, or someone said my hair looked good – I’m talking true real pure happiness that comes from within. This didn’t happen overnight. It took a lot of trial and error and more screw-ups than I’d care to admit.
But along the way, I learned a lot. I’m trained in yoga, meditation, hypnotherapy, and rapid transformational therapy. I’ve obsessively studied neuroscience, the subconscious mind, positive psychology, and the science of stress and anxiety. Now I help ambitious women excavate the root cause of their biggest mindset blocks and mental health challenges (anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, and codependency are my specialties).
The thing that fills me up most is helping others to befriend the voice inside their head and make peace with themselves on the inside. Because when we feel good on the inside, everything on the outside gets better and better.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For many years I felt like I was living a double life. I was the analytical, techie go-getter by day and a yoga and meditation teacher by night.
I had always dreamed of owning my own business and making a difference in people’s lives but the thought of leaving the security of my corporate job terrified me. When I started my hypnotherapy training and had several sessions of my own, things finally clicked into place. I was able to see where all of my fears and doubts came from and I healed them almost instantly.
Once I started to create programs and began seeing profound transformations in my clients, I knew that there was no looking back.
Honestly, the biggest struggle I have in my business is that I’m always looking for new clients! This is because my clients generally get the results they’re looking for within a few sessions so I don’t see them for weeks and months on end like in a traditional therapy setting. Luckily they tend to send their friends and family members my way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Ellen Haine’s Rapid Transformational Therapy?
I’m not all that interested in managing symptoms and making life suck “less”. I want anyone who is struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship or career issues, etc that meaningful change is possible.
I want you to know that therapy isn’t about “fixing” yourself.
Healing is about coming to the realization that the person you are, is already whole.
There is no limit to what you can do or be when you get your mind’s side.
But in order to create the new, you have to be willing to let go of the old.
Belief systems.
Unfulfilling jobs.
Old coping mechanisms.
Drama-filled relationships.
Self-defeating or unhealthy habits.
The past.
This is what I help my clients to do with Rapid Transformational Therapy. RTT has helped people to transcend anxiety and depression, conquer eating disorders, repair marriages, and overcome sexual trauma and narcissistic abuse. It has resulted in career shifts, weight loss, mended relationships, and healing chronic illnesses.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. There is no limit to what you can do when you get your mind on your side.
If you’re struggling mentally or emotionally, or if you’re feeling stuck and unfulfilled, my consultations are free. Check out my website ellenhaines.com or follow @healwithellen on Instagram for mental health and mindset tips, education, and inspiration.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My best advice is to get out of your own way!
Most people struggle with being seen. They get nervous about being judged or feel anxious when it comes to speaking about themselves and their business.
This all has to do with a fear of being seen and being vulnerable. Heal your visibility fears and let yourself shine.
Putting yourself out there, making new connections, and ditching the habit of shrinking yourself will do more than any mentor or networking event.
