Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Stone.
Hi Elizabeth, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey to founding The Fresh Sweep cleaning service began on the high seas. As chief stewardess aboard luxury yachts, I catered to an elite clientele, including Ed Sheeran, the Bacardi family, and my favorite, Judge Judy. During those years working for high-end clients, I honed my eye for detail. Running a 10-person staff taught me how to lead a team to uphold rigorous standards. Pampering demanding celebrity owners and guests instilled in me the high standards I hold today. When I moved to Arizona, I had big dreams of starting my own cleaning business to raise the bar for quality and service. I’ve always had that entrepreneurial drive, and I knew I could put my leadership skills to work, building something special. So, I launched The Fresh Sweep to bring that top-notch cleaning into people’s homes and businesses. There needs to be more professionalism and reliability in this industry, and my goal is to fill it by providing an excellent experience, not just your basic cleaning service. I want customers to know that when they work with us, they’ll get our A-game every time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges so far has been getting those critical first few clients and convincing people to give The Fresh Sweep a try over more established companies. It takes time to explain over ads or emails exactly what sets us apart and why people should pick us. I’ve also been testing various marketing platforms – running Facebook and Google ads, getting listed on Yelp and Thumbtack, and offering promotions to get our name out there. There’s been some wasted money spent while testing different platforms- it can be frustrating when a lot is spent, but results are needed. Pricing has also been tricky without doing walk-through quotes first. Some homes are much more cluttered or dirtier than customers let on initially. We’ve had to flex our schedule and services to accommodate those situations within our rates. It’s a grind trying to line up enough consistent business and prove ourselves so clients keep coming back and spreading the word about The Fresh Sweep. But I’m determined to push through these early struggles. Word of mouth will pick up as we continue delivering incredible results.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets The Fresh Sweep apart is that we’re a boutique cleaning company focused on being true partners in your home – not just random cleaners passing through. We offer thoughtful little touches, like lighting a candle for first-timers and turning down the beds with chocolates and inspiring quotes. And we don’t charge extra for that stuff! It’s just our way of making your house feel like a home you can’t wait to come home to. I’m also super hands-on in understanding exactly what each client wants and expects. I’m big on getting feedback so we can keep improving and exceed expectations. On top of cleaning, we offer full-service organization using our in-house professional organizers. They’ll do a free consultation and custom organize every nook and cranny – closets, garages, you name it! We want to be your one-stop shop for all things cleaning and organizing. Consider us your home partners.
Alright, so before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
I’m interested in collaborating with other businesses to add value for shared clients and example, partnering with realtors to offer move-in cleaning and organization bundles at a discount for their clients. Or teaming up with interior designers – we can provide cleaning and organization services to help make their designs shine in clients’ homes. I also see an opportunity to collaborate with estate sale companies, new home builders, and HOAs. I’m open to exploring partnerships with all kinds of businesses where we can make people’s lives easier, either through our cleaning services directly or by collaborating with other companies. My goal is to add value however I can. As a new business, word-of-mouth referrals can be so powerful for us, too. So, any support folks can provide by recommending The Fresh Sweep to clients is hugely appreciated and welcomed! Also, social media interaction and sharing is a powerful tools as well.
