Today we’d like to introduce you to Eden Benibo.
Hi Eden, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello ICON Magazine was born out of a passion to create a space I once searched for.
A space where creativity combines empathy, love, care, and kindness. I believe the world isn’t lacking people with great skill and talent but people who combine all the talent and brilliance with some of the basic values of life.
So when I began this digital media, it was built and designed as a business venture that combines profit and real-time impact.
Through various internal projects and creative collaborations, we are building a community of mentally refined creatives using their individual Art for social good.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely, it’s not been a smooth road and that’s okay for a youth-led platform with such an enormous dream to impact the world.
There were so many days our backs were against the wall, one of which was how challenging it was to secure digital marketers and partners. As a firm dedicated to combining profit with impact, it took us a while to create a balance as we were more focused on impact than the financial aspect which is as important to keep the business running. We sent out various emails. Some rejected, some got no response and just it seemed like no external venture believed in the magazine’s dream enough to partner with us, we got our founding partner, Adam Vital, and our lead digital marketer, Michelle Monato.
The past two years have taught me the power of teamwork, perseverance, and consistency.
