Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Farar Jewett.

Hi Donna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Looking to make a switch from family law, I consulted with my mentor who advised that estate planning could be a great add-on to my business. I started an estate planning law firm the “typical” lawyer way. I quickly realized that this was not the best way to serve clients and Truest Law was born. Truest Law is a flat fee law firm (hourly fees discourage communication, and clients won’t call if they think they’ll get billed every time). We have a long term relationship with our clients because estate planning affects every area of their lives. We don’t just give you documents to put on a shelf. Your estate plan is dynamic; it is not just documents but is guidance for the best legal decisions for families now and throughout their future. Clients need to know their family has us with them when they need it most.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m grateful that the path has seemed relatively smooth. Every business has its challenges, seasons, and obstacles. I’ve had the good fortune to have great family, friends, mentors, and a team who continue to help me address the challenges when they arise.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Truest Law, PLLC?
Truest Law is an estate planning law firm that walks with our clients in designing an estate plan that is unique to their needs and will best serve their loved ones. Our practice is focused on the success of their plan rather than a transaction and giving them a book that will only collect dust. I am most proud of our team and our commitment to our clients.

Working closely with our clients helps their loved ones avoid probate and relieves them of having to navigate the unknown at a time of loss or disability. To the extent that they want to, our clients have the ability to include their family in their planning. Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was raised by parents who always made me feel loved and valued. I was very academic, I played school with all of my dolls, and I was a bit sassy.
