Hi Courtney & Zach, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We started our business approximately 15 years ago in Chicago. It all started at a major restaurant franchise where we tasted a delicious brownie that we always ordered. Well one day they discontinued the brownie. We were both devastated. So I made it my mission to come up with a recipe that was just as delicious if not better. Thus DB Gourmet Desserts was started. Treat Dreams was on it’s way! We started baking in a commissary kitchen, got all our licensing and permits. We even got our brownies into a chain grocery store in Chicago that had 9/10 in the surrounding suburbs and Chicago-land area. But alas, we couldn’t keep up with the demands and requirements needed to supply grocery chains. So it was temporarily shut down.

Fast forward to 2021 our family moved to AZ. It was a fresh start with loads of new places and you guessed it, new foods and palates. We started to frequent farmers markets and noticed other vendors selling their own fresh food and treats. We knew our brownies would fit right in! And here we are today still grinding, still pushing to make our “Best Effen Brownies & Blondies” a household name! We’re up to 25+ different varieties of flavors and options.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We know our product is amazing and for the past 4 years have never had a refund request. Our biggest hurdle so far is just getting our name out there to the masses. That and being tied down to regular day jobs and responsibilities limits our window of being available every day throughout the day. We also want to hire more staff to help us bake and man our trailer. All profits and expenses go back into our business to make sure it’s up and running smoothly. More revenue from generated sales could help these hurdles.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Treat Dreams Inc?
We make “The Best Effen Brownies & Blondies”. We have tons of different flavors that set us apart from the traditional idea of a store bought or boxed brownie. Most people think of brownie and think milk chocolate with a flavor splashed on top. OUR brownies have distinct profile flavors like Oreo, German Chocolate, Red Velvet, Strawberry Shortcake (blondie), and a Churro Blondie to name a few.

We are proud to change people’s minds about brownies because they are the underdog dessert. People think of birthdays, weddings, parties in general and want cake, cookies, pies even candy. Brownies are the last thing to be mentioned as a serious dessert contender. Well no more!

Our brownies our moist, dense and delicious. That’s why we call them the best.

What matters most to you? Why?
We want people to walk away from our product and it stays in the back of their mind. We’ve had many customers exclaim how amazingly soft and delicious our product is. It matters that our treats are amazing each and every purchase.

We also want to use this to help our family build a legacy from our dreams. Treat Dreams.
