Today, we’d like to introduce you to Clayton Gandara.
Hi Clayton, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I moved from Tucson to go to school at MMI (Motorcycle Mechanics Institute). Came from the food and service industry.
I was into the bike builder shows and really liked the thought of building bikes as a profession. After school, I got hired at a custom bike shop, where the learning really began. Did everything from simple oil changes to rebuilding motors and building bikes. It’s been an awesome ride.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
At the beginning of this new career change, there were tough times.
I didn’t know if I was going to get hired or not right after school, especially after spending all that money.
In this industry, the learning never stops. Obstacles are always gonna be in front of you. How you get through them is what matters and builds your character.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Dillinger Motorcycle Company. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a full-service repair motorcycle shop, as well as doing custom work, custom builds, and fabrication.
We’re something new and different to the motorcycle world in AZ; we have a personality, haha. We’re located in Tempe, on the corner of Rio Salado and McClintock. The sky’s the limit, so come visit our awesome shop.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
Social media is a huge way for us to collaborate. Also, wearing our merch is big.
