Exploring Life & Business with Christina Annable of DermaPrecision Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Annable.

Christina Annable

Hi Christina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?

I’d love to! Professionally my background is as a surgical physician assistant, meaning I am board certified to practice in all areas of medicine, but I have specialized training to be able to first assist a surgeon in both general and plastic surgery. I started my career at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, training with and working amongst some of the top surgeons and medical professionals in the country.

Operating across the table from a surgeon for many years certainly fostered my critical eye and meticulous attention to detail. In plastic surgery, patients expect a great deal of precision and artistry in their results. Helping patients achieve the exceptional results while working with my hands came second-nature.

I’ve been a PA now for about 13 years, as I graduated in 2011 with a Dual Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and Public Health from Touro University, California. Several years into my surgical role, I realized that I needed to have a little more balance in my life. I had two baby girls to care for, and not a lot of flexibility or availability to care for them. I wanted to find a way to be able to set my own hours, all while continuing to utilize my artistic talent and technical skill to help people feel confident.

My passion for aesthetics, an artistic eye, and desire to provide top-notch care came to fruition with the opening of DermaPrecision in 2020. I listen to my patients and am very honest with them. We work together to come up with a plan that feels right and addresses their goals. There is nothing cookie-cutter or one treatment fits all in my practice.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

With plans to open my business at the start of 2020, never did I ever imagine that would include facing the challenges of a global pandemic. I opened my doors immediately after the lock-down period, operating with an N95 mask and shield out of the casita of my house. Once things started moving, I quickly transitioned to a commercial space but there was still a lot of hesitation for people to seek an elective treatment from a new provider of a brand new aesthetic practice.

Fortunately, my first patients were extremely happy with their results and my aesthetic eye, so their recommendations quickly spread like wildfire throughout their networks. Within a year I had a large patient database with ongoing referrals. Rapid growth allowed me to invest in devices to expand my treatment offerings and enhance outcomes for my patients. I’ve invested a ton of time, money and energy into expansion and have learned some hard lessons along the way. By nature I am very risk-averse, so it’s been a journey to say the least!

Over the past 4 years, I’ve grown from a solo provider in a single suite to a 2000sq ft, four treatment room retail location with an IV lounge and five employees. We are now a full service medspa in a very busy, upscale location and thriving!

As you know, we’re big fans of DermaPrecision Aesthetics. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

DermaPrecision is a boutique medical aesthetic practice in North Scottsdale, owned and operated by board-certified, plastic surgery-trained Physician Associate, Christina Stumpf. She uses a conservative approach to enhancing beauty, while respecting the features that make each of her patients unique. Her goal is for each of her patients to leave her hands feeling refreshed and confident.

Our patients are family. No matter your experience with cosmetic injectables, you will leave DermaPrecision feeling informed and educated. Your goals are important to us, and we want your concerns to feel understood. And just like family, we will be honest, share openly, and always make your safety and well-being our top priority.

Not only do our services include botox, dermal filler, sculptra, and kybella, but we also offer cutomized medical grade facials, brow and lash treatments, peels, and a variety of lasers for skin rejuvenation. We also have a very cozy IV lounge for hydration and vitamin therapy.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?

I think success for me personally is defined by waking up each morning and feeling excited to go to work. I am so passionate about what I do, genuinely love working in our office space, and my team of employees is like my family away from home. Everyone works so hard and authentically cares about our patients and each other. The future looks so bright for DermaPrecision!
