Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsey Rodgers.
Hi Chelsey, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been a nurse for over 20 years, with a background in pediatric and neonatal care and a deep love for education. My heart has always been in supporting families – especially in those vulnerable, early days of parenthood. Working in the hospital, I saw just how much of a difference it makes when families feel truly supported, informed, and empowered – especially around something as emotional and foundational as feeding.
My own breastfeeding journey came with unexpected challenges – undiagnosed oral restrictions, limited hospital support, and the emotional weight of trying to figure it all out on my own. That experience ignited something deeper in me: a passion not just for helping, but for teaching. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when parents understand the why behind what’s happening with their baby. That clarity shifts them from feeling overwhelmed to feeling capable, confident, and connected.
Luxe Lactation wasn’t something I set out to build – but it’s been one of the greatest gifts. God has been so faithful in this journey. He opened doors I didn’t expect and placed people in my path who encouraged me, challenged me, and supported me in ways I truly needed. What began as a desire to serve moms turned into a business that allows me to do exactly that – every day, in a way that’s deeply aligned with my values.
This concierge-style practice is built on personalized, unhurried support that goes far beyond textbook advice. Every care plan is thoughtfully tailored to the unique needs of each baby and family – because no two journeys are ever the same. Whether you’re facing latch pain, low supply, bottle refusal, or simply need someone to say, “You’re doing a great job,” I’m here to guide, educate, and walk alongside you every step of the way.
Because at its core, this work isn’t just about breastfeeding. It’s about restoring confidence, creating calm in the chaos, and giving families the tools they need to thrive – not just survive.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While I absolutely love the heart of my work – supporting families, helping them trust their instincts, and guiding them through the vulnerable early days of parenthood – being an entrepreneur hasn’t come naturally to me.
Marketing, networking, and consistently showing up online? Those are definitely outside of my comfort zone. I didn’t start Luxe Lactation because I wanted to build a business – I started it because I love encouraging people, especially new parents, to feel confident and capable. That’s what fuels me.
The business side has been a growing edge for sure. But through every challenge, I’ve seen God’s faithfulness. He’s connected me with people who have come alongside me in exactly the ways I’ve needed – mentors, fellow postpartum professionals, and friends who’ve supported me with wisdom, encouragement, and love. I’ve leaned into their strengths, just as I help new parents lean into theirs.
And in many ways, that mirrors the work I do. Parenting isn’t about having all the answers – it’s about having the right support, the right tools, and the right people walking with you. I’ve experienced that in my own journey as a business owner, and I try to offer that same kind of grace-filled, empowering support to every family I work with.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth. And I wouldn’t trade the growth for anything.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Luxe Lactation ?
Luxe Lactation is a concierge-style lactation practice offering in-home and virtual visits, with in-office options available if families prefer. My services begin in pregnancy, where prenatal education is one of my favorite parts of this work. Helping parents understand positioning, latching, hand expression, and how to tell if their baby is getting enough before their baby arrives sets the stage for a calmer, more confident start.
Postpartum, I support families through every stage of their feeding journey – whether that’s helping a newborn latch, concerns with milk supply, bottle refusal, pumping and flange fitting, returning to work, or even navigating weaning. When I come into a family’s home, I bring tools like a scale to measure milk transfer, flanges, and even a pump. We talk through all of their questions – feeding, burping, ways to support their needs as well as their baby’s, and the basics of newborn care.
I structure my care around three core pillars:
Feeding the baby – ensuring babies are nourished and thriving in whatever way the family chooses.
Protecting mom’s supply – supporting milk production with strategies that fit her body and her goals.
Protecting mom’s mental health – creating plans that are sustainable, realistic, and protect her emotional wellbeing.
All three must be in balance. If any one of them begins to suffer, we adjust the plan. That framework keeps both the baby and the mother at the center of care.
Here’s what makes Luxe Lactation different:
Nurturing education – I don’t just offer quick fixes; I teach parents the why behind what’s happening so they feel informed and empowered.
Unhurried care – I intentionally limit the number of families I work with so I can provide personalized attention, hands-on guidance, and private messaging access between visits.
Holistic support – Each care plan is fully tailored to the baby, the family, and their goals, blending clinical expertise with emotional reassurance and practical tools.
Trusted connections – I partner with a network of trusted professionals – pediatric bodywork providers, tongue-tie specialists, postpartum care, pediatricians and more – so families have access to comprehensive, connected care.
Faith-forward service – This business wasn’t part of my original plan, but I’ve seen God’s hand in it from the start. Luxe has grown out of His faithfulness, and that heart-led foundation shapes the way I care for every family.
What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is that Luxe Lactation reflects the kind of support I wish every family had – care that is calm, compassionate, evidence-based, and truly centered on the family’s unique needs.
Ultimately, Luxe isn’t just about solving feeding issues. It’s about restoring confidence, creating peace in the middle of the chaos, and giving families the tools they need to thrive in one of the most important seasons of their lives.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
That every family is unique, and thriving requires balance – feeding the baby, protecting mom’s supply, and caring for her mental health. I’ve also learned that balance isn’t achieved alone. Just as I’ve leaned on mentors and colleagues, families thrive when surrounded by a strong support team – whether that’s their family & friends, a midwife, pediatrician, lactation support, bodywork provider, or postpartum care provider. When everyone works together, parents feel empowered, cared for, and confident in their journey.
