Exploring Life & Business with Beth Freese of Evolve Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Freese.

Hi Beth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been interested in understanding people and what helps them heal. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and my master’s degree in counseling from Grand Canyon University, and over the years I worked in a variety of clinical settings before opening Evolve Therapy in Phoenix.
Today, I specialize in working with adults who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, and chronic pain. My work is heavily informed by neuroscience and trauma-focused approaches, particularly Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR).
What I love most about this work is helping people understand why they’re experiencing the symptoms they are and supporting them in getting to where they want to be. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch people move from feeling stuck and overwhelmed to feeling more connected and confident in their lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most business owners, it definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Building a private practice takes time, patience, and a willingness to wear a lot of different hats. In the beginning, I was learning not only how to be a therapist, but also how to run a business, market my services, manage finances, and create systems that support both my clients and myself.

One of the biggest challenges has been learning to balance growth with sustainability. As someone who genuinely cares about helping people, it can be tempting to say yes to everything. Over time, I’ve learned the importance of boundaries, refining my niche, and building a practice that allows me to do my best work while maintaining balance in my own life.

Looking back, those challenges ultimately helped shape both the clinician and business owner I am today.

As you know, we’re big fans of Evolve Therapy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Evolve Therapy is a boutique private practice in Phoenix specializing in trauma and chronic pain. I primarily work with adults who are successful and high-functioning on the outside but feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected on the inside.

What sets my practice apart is my focus on neuroscience-informed trauma therapy and nervous system healing, particularly through Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR). I offer extended sessions and therapy intensives for clients seeking deeper, more focused work.

What I’m most proud of is creating a practice where clients feel genuinely understood while receiving highly specialized care. I want people to know that healing is possible, and that many of the struggles they experience make sense when viewed through the lens of the nervous system.

How do you think about happiness?
Honestly, becoming a mom has brought me more joy than I ever expected. I love spending time with my husband and son, watching him learn new things, and enjoying the everyday moments together as a family.

I also feel fortunate to do work that I genuinely love. Supporting people through difficult seasons of life and watching them grow is incredibly meaningful. At this stage of life, it’s the combination of family, purpose, and connection that makes me happiest.
