Today we’d like to introduce you to Anisza & Frances Moreno.
Hi Anisza & Frances, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started when I was about 5 years old. I remember learning to cook by watching my dad and mom make dinner. I used to watch cooking shows with my dad when we had time to hang out. As an adult, I never thought the idea of opening a business to cook for people would ever cross my mind again! I realized I was interested when I was in the Army. The time I spent in my barracks would cringe in my mind so I would cook dinner for my battle buddies for people to hang out with.
They enjoyed my food and to this day they still talk about how much they enjoyed those times with me and how great my food left an impression. After that, I started to become passionate about food! Talking about it and describing how amazing it tastes just flows from my mouth naturally! So, in August of 2021, I met my partner Frances. She was my friend first in the elementary school years ago.
She also had the same interests as me and the biggest one being FOOD! She loves food just as much as me and is a great Chef! She can make whatever from anything given to her and it always comes out amazing!! So we embarked on buying a food trailer to start a journey with our food. With the love, we share with the food we opened Caramelita’s 2Lesbians&ATruck!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been an easy road. We had struggled before opening because something would always happen to the trailer and I would have to fix and repair it. The hitch had broke and caused us to be out until we could find the right welder!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a lesbian-owned and veteran-owned food trailer! So we accept all people no matter what and support our troops! We specialize in Flautas and enchiladas. Everything is made from scratch and is passed down to me by my father and his mother. They were born and raised in Mexico City! We make the best tinga flautas. Yes TINGA in your flautas! We also have Guisada enchiladas that are amazing!
One of our other enchiladas that are very popular is the red papa enchilada. Our red sauce is made from three different chiles that come from Mexico! We are also in the catering business and love to take in big tasks for people’s weddings and events!
