Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Savarese.
Andrea, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Opening and running a veterinary clinic has always been a career goal of mine since I entered the veterinary field. When I moved to Arizona several years back, I worked for several years in corporate and private practice, and even did relief work. I have seen how many different types of clinics operate which provided a lot of insight on how I feel a clinic should be run and clients and patients should be treated. I wanted to create a space where clients felt understood and all their concerns were heard, and where pets actually enjoyed coming in for a veterinary visit. Our practice really prides itself on our close relationship with our clients and patients, and on how we treat them. All of our staff is Fear Free certified and strives to reduce pet anxiety and stress before, during and after a visit. We continue to strive towards offering state of the art medicine while keeping in line with our industry standards.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening a brand new veterinary clinic I have come to learn is never a smooth road. There is nothing I’ve learned that can completely prepare you for everything you will face when starting a new business. But I do have a fantastic support system with my family, friends, and other professionals in the field. We started completely from the ground up with no client base and have been building that over the last year. We are still working endlessly each day to retain our clients and continue to build new relationships as well. On top of the stress of getting a new business up and running, veterinary medicine can also be a very mentally demanding field. When creating the clinic I also wanted to foster a safe and positive work environment for my staff, which can sometimes be lacking in veterinary clinic environments. Financially it can be challaning when starting a brand new clinic as we have a lot of overhead for equipment and supplies to get us running and able to provide good patient care. Obviously we need the influx of clients to keep our doors open financially, but we strive to help as many clients and patients as we can, and that will always be our number one goal.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
