Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Aja Murphy.
Hi Dr.Murphy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a board certified Family Medicine Physician. I practiced traditional Family Medicine for several years. Unfortunately, the culture of corporate medicine didn’t align with my vision of being a good health care provider and patient advocate. Their focus is quantity over quality, which didn’t sit well with me. From a more personal standpoint, I often felt as though I had to choose between work and family. I specifically recall a conversation with a female colleague who is also a mother. She laughed as she talked about holding her daughter’s hair back as she was throwing up while doing patient charting with her other hand. If that’s what it takes to thrive in corporate medicine, I’ll pass.
I wanted to find a way to help others yet maintain balance in my life. I also wanted to deliver quality care. I believed that required me to return to the basics of preventative health, and nourishing our bodies appropriately is the foundation of overall health. There are many ways to fuel our bodies, but IV Therapy is a valuable resource to utilize. It’s a way of getting higher doses of nutrients on a cellular level much faster than oral supplements alone. People feel better, faster. I can definitely take pride in providing that type of healthcare. I intended on starting off the business offering services for IV therapy to enhance nutrition and would gradually expand services. In fact, I will be launching a telemedicine service next month. With each expansion, I am totally committed to developing individualized, patient-centered care while reviving one’s health.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been many hurdles to overcome. One of the biggest hurdles was the transition from family practice. It took a huge leap a faith to leave traditional patient care and a guaranteed salary to pursue a vision and concept of healing everyone can’t understand. This has been an investment and adjustment for the entire family. Opening a business during a global pandemic has been an added challenge that even the most experienced entrepreneur couldn’t coach me through. Overall, challenges are never easy, but I know I have overcome every challenge I’ve met so far and have had growth through each hurdle encountered. I approach each challenge with that frame of mind. It’s an opportunity for growth.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Revive Hive?
IV nutrition therapy is often overlooked by the typical patient. However, it is an important and powerful tool used to enhance a patient’s overall health. It includes the administration of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and other essential micro-nutrients by intravenous infusion. It has the ability to improve a number of disorders, especially in patients suffering from malabsorption symptoms. IV nutrition therapy bypasses the need for gastrointestinal absorption, thereby markedly increasing nutrient bioavailability and cellular uptake with 100% absorption. The effects of the IV therapy on one’s energy are often observed much faster than by oral supplements alone. IV nutrition therapy has been found to help impact antioxidants that affect aging, enhance athletic performance, boost one’s immune system, cognition, mood, and general health. In fact, IV nutrition therapy can even compliment weight loss. It is a wonderful compliment to one’s treatment plan that is fully able to be customized for each patient.
Another nutritional infusion that will be released soon is one I hold close to my heart. I personally endured several miscarriages and various challenges before I was blessed with my daughter. With that experience in mind, I will be launching a fertility drip that will reduce oxidative stress, which can improve the environment for developing eggs to help women seeking pregnancy. Most infusions can be done over your lunch hour and take only 30-45 minutes. Since IV nutrition has been in use since the 1950’s, this treatment has a long history of safety and efficacy without side effects.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I would advise investing in the appropriate support system to launch your business with a solid foundation. No matter what anyone tells you, make sure an attorney is a part of that team.
