Exploring Life & Business with Jessica Vicari

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Vicari.

Hi Jessica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am an Arizona Local residing in beautiful Flagstaff. I came up the mountain to go to NAU for my Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene. After four years working full time as a Dental Hygienist, I found myself wanting to need a new form of work due to my chronic illness, Crohn’s disease. My body was not handling the type of work and environment of the dental space, and I lacked in quality of life. Luckily, I am a girl of many trades, and as they say in business, I had to pivot. In all my hospitality and service-based work experience, I had always enjoyed the strategy part of business, teamwork, making systems more efficient, and supporting the team mentally through motivation and problem-solving. Also, for six years, I had been commissioning paintings and gemstone jewelry as a side hustle. Throughout my social media and business experience, I began to explore how I could turn my creativity and business strategy mindset into my own business. As of October 2020, I started a business as a virtual assistant for health and wellness specialists.

Within a month, I had replaced my Dental Hygiene income, learned multiple new skills and connected with incredible people and businesses. I am now scaling the business into an online business management service and continuing to develop new and improved techniques and processes to help entrepreneurs master the online business presence. Now I have the freedom to constantly be learning, make my own schedule, and experience more self-growth than when stuck in the 8-5 lifestyle. Also, my health is more stable and I am able to be more comfortable at home where I can be consistent with my dietary and mindset needs to better control Crohn’s. I am truly so thankful for all the opportunities I have found.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, if you ever find an entrepreneur that has had a “smooth” experience, please send them my way, ha! As for life as a whole, I have had a rollercoaster of experiences ranging from severely traumatic to extremely blessed. I do manage anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD along with my autoimmune disease and boy has that taught me a lot. I have been able to connect with others on a deeper and more personal level due to these ailments, so it is bittersweet. My purpose in life is to impact lives, and what better way to do that than being able to relate to people on a personal level and help them on their healing journey through support and perspective.

As you know, we’re big fans of Jessica Vicari LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I offer an outsourced service for businesses online. This business has the ability to grow and change in the online business world. My dream clients are in the health and wellness industry who are interested in bringing their 1:1 coaching to 1:many options through online digital materials, courses, and more. I offer Instagram Management, Business Strategy, Pinterest Management and Marketing, Content Creation, Organization and Automation, Email Marketing, and more. Each client begins by scheduling a free discovery call where we see if my services are best for them and which monthly package is most beneficial. From their, they hire me through a contracted hours/month service package. The goal is to help entrepreneurs maintain an authentic online presence, grow their business, optimize their business, and achieve a better life/work balance through adding me to their team. Through market research, most health and wellness coaches experience stress from the demands of social media and transitioning to the online teaching space- that is where I come in!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Experiencing Covid-19 while working in the Dental field was eye-opening. Generally, people (patients) are scared or anxious in the dental chair, and this was elevated due to the fear of Covid-19. Fortunately, the offices I was in were able to provide a safe environment for patients and the dental team took the extra time to provide the answers and reassurance to patients. The most impactful thing for me personally was the recognition of my unhappiness during the “shut down” period where I was not working in March-May 2020. I realized that I needed to make a change for myself and my health. I chose to go back to work as a hygienist for a few months to treat my patients and help the office get back on its feet. Once I felt it was time for me to move onto something new, I went for it and jumped straight into building my business! So, I guess you could say that although Covid-19 has brought a lot of fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak, it has also pushed me to not hold myself back from my dreams. Life is too short.
