We’re looking forward to introducing you to dominique vandaele. Check out our conversation below.
Hi dominique, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
Absolutely one of the biggest misunderstandings about my business is that people still see it as “just selling products” or “a side hustle.” In reality, what we’re building is a global movement of empowerment, transformation, and freedom.
Yes, we offer health and wellness solutions, but behind that is a business model that changes lives not just physically, but emotionally and financially. Many people assume it’s easy or passive, but like any real business, it takes leadership, consistency, and resilience.
People also often think that success in this field depends on having a huge social media following or being an extrovert. That’s not true. I came from a completely different background, I was a police officer for 13 years. What matters most here is your mindset, your willingness to grow, and your desire to help others.
So what’s misunderstood? It’s not about products. It’s about people. It’s not about sales. It’s about transformation. And it’s not about luck. It’s about showing up every single day, until you build the life you once only dreamed of.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Dominique Vandaele former police officer turned entrepreneur, visionary, and freedom-builder. After spending 13 years in law enforcement in Belgium, I made a bold decision: I left my secure career to build a life of purpose, freedom, and impact.
Today, I am a top leader of the company and lead a global organization of over 25,000 people through Isagenix a wellness and business platform that’s transforming lives from the inside out. Our brand isn’t just about premium health products like collagen and nutritional resets… it’s about unlocking human potential.
What makes our movement unique is the community first approach. We coach people not just on wellness, but on how to grow their confidence, build income online, and create a lifestyle that aligns with who they truly are. From busy moms to elite athletes, we help people reset physically, mentally, and financially.
Currently, I’m expanding the business across Southern Europe and empowering a new generation of leaders, especially in Spain and Portugal. I’m also passionate about coaching mindset, building strong routines, and helping people turn pain into power.
What started as a personal journey has now become a mission: to prove that ordinary people can create extraordinary lives with the right tools, mentorship, and belief.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed that I had to “play it safe” to be successful that security was the highest goal, and that following the traditional path was the only way to be respected or valued. I thought that in order to be seen as strong or responsible, I had to suppress my dreams and just do what society expected of me.
I no longer believe that.
I’ve learned that real strength is having the courage to choose a different path, even when it doesn’t make sense to others. I’ve learned that purpose matters more than predictability, and that real freedom comes from being bold enough to follow your vision and build something of your own.
So today, I don’t play small. I don’t shrink to fit expectations. I lead, I dream big, and I help others do the same.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
For the longest time, I was afraid of my own potential, not because I didn’t believe in myself, but because everyone around me constantly tried to shrink me.
I grew up surrounded by people who couldn’t handle ambition.
Friends told me to “be realistic.”
Family said, “don’t get your hopes up.”
And my ex-wife? She looked me in the eye and said:
“Stop dreaming. Stay with both feet on the ground. Just be normal.”
They weren’t trying to protect me.
They were trying to keep me small. Because my growth made them uncomfortable. My hunger exposed their fear.
And for a while… I listened. I played safe. I dimmed my light to make others feel better about playing small.
But deep inside, I knew: I’m not here to live an average life.
I’m not here to blend in. I’m here to dominate.
To build. To win. To leave a legacy that no one can ignore.
So, I killed that fear.
I stopped asking for permission.
I took massive risks.
And I became the kind of man who wakes up with fire in his chest and zero tolerance for mediocrity.
That fear? It’s gone.
And now I teach others how to kill it too.
You can stay small to make others comfortable.
Or you can step into the man you were born to be.
I chose power. I chose purpose. I chose ME.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would say freedom purpose and doing what you love no matter what it takes
What touches me the most is when people I have known for years look at me now and say
“We can see it you are truly happy you are finally doing something you really love”
That hits me deep Because it means they see the shift
They feel the energy
And they respect the fact that I had the courage to choose me
I gave up comfort and certainty to follow a dream
And now many of those same people tell me how much they admire that I actually went for it
That I dared to jump
To trust life
And to live full out
They see that I am not afraid to risk to grow to break the mold
And that I am living proof that you do not have to play small to be respected
You can live your truth and still win
What really matters to me is being aligned
Doing what sets my soul on fire
And showing others that they can do the same
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I have learned that real leadership is not about being the one who always shines
It is about helping others shine
There was a time I believed I had to do everything myself
That I had to lead from the front be in control and carry the full weight of the team
But the day I let go of that mindset something shifted
The moment I stepped out of the spotlight and focused on building others
That was the moment I truly started growing myself
Today I understand that true strength as a leader is about empowering others
Not performing for them
It is about guiding without controlling
Supporting without rescuing
And creating space for people to discover their own voice
I also learned you cannot help everyone
Some people are simply not ready
And that is okay
You must keep moving forward with those who are willing to grow with you
I still see leaders struggling because they want to be perfect
They overanalyze they hold on too tight
They think being the best means doing the most
But that energy does not duplicate
It creates pressure
It blocks connection
And in the end it drives people away because no one feels free to be themselves
What I know now is this
You grow faster when you stop trying to control everything
Your team grows stronger when they feel seen and safe to lead in their own way
And the business becomes sustainable when you stop making it about you
and start building something that lives beyond you
