Daily Inspiration: Meet Yazmin Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yazmin Rodriguez.

Yazmin Rodriguez

Hi Yazmin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a love for flowers. From making centerpieces for our gatherings to arranging my friend’s birthdays and ensuring I had them on my desk while working a regular 9-5. (Now I work 24/7). I always found peace in seeing them blossom so beautifully. It was early 2022. My daughter was only a couple of months old, and I suffered from PPD without knowing it. These were some dark times that, while I was here, I didn’t understand. My husband would occasionally get me flowers. On this day, he came in with three a pot of daisies, roses, and an orchid. Seeing it now, I understand how hard he worked to make me feel loved. I was in bed, and he told me he got me flowers but left them in the kitchen so I would try to get up. My interest in flowers was gone. That peace I would see in them lost. They didn’t last long; even the pot of daisies dried up. However, one rose from all those dried roses was blooming, and every time I walked out of that room, I saw it grow more leaves. It blew me away. Something so dark got color. That rose received no love, attention, or clean water; it was thriving out of all of them. Somehow, for some reason, this made me realize my situation. I got a vision for an arrangement for myself, rushed to the store, and made it happen. From here, it began. All over again, I put all my love into flowers and started making things blossom again. This made my dreams blossom, and now I specialize in making your dreams blossom!

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Motherhood and entrepreneurship are challenging, especially when combining both. I am still learning to manage both, but seeing my daughter trying to help make some of your arrangements come to life is rewarding. To anyone starting or handling multiple roles at the same time, hang in there! It does get better ❤️

Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
One day, Chris & I were walking to a friend’s house, and on our way, there was a house whose entire fence was surrounded by rose bushes. They were the most beautiful roses I had ever seen. I would always look forward to seeing them! One day, we got the nerve to try and cut one off. Our attempt was unsuccessful as we got caught by the homeowner, and seeing it now, I would probably be mad, too. She was the cutest old lady, screaming to leave her roses alone as we ran away. (Please know I am sorry, and that beautiful pink rose still stays on my mind). I’m glad I never cut that rose off, as now I know I would’ve cut its life short.
