Today we’d like to introduce you to Thaddeus Hornung.
Hi Thaddeus, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Originally a Pennsylvania native, I was brought out to Arizona by the Air Force and after serving moved to Phoenix.
After leaving the service I immediately started touring the country with Equal Vision Records signee Cherie Amour (@cherieamourband on all socials) firstly as their merch manager then soon graduated to touring guitarist. Since then I have been hired by a local booking and promoting agency Nameless Presents (@namlesspresents on all socials) in addition to doing session guitar and engineering bands all over Phoenix.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
A true obstacle I personally face as a creative is the consistent imposter syndrome. The constant thought of not working hard enough or not being deserving of the things that I have worked years to achieve. I found overcoming this was extremely tough, but doable just by trying to bring myself to the present moment and be grateful for the things I have accomplished so far.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a full-time touring/session musician. I also produce and engineer bands in the local Phoenix area. In addition to recording bands, I also book and promote shows all over the state as well as in Austin Texas, and North Carolina.
While touring I also manage the touring band’s merchandise store and all the accounting attached to the store.
We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
Anything great starts with taking a risk.
