Hi Shelby, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We moved to Arizona in 2022 and immediately fell in love with the beautiful landscapes and endless adventure opportunities. Our family started exploring every chance we got, sharing our experiences and trips on our personal social media pages.

Soon, we noticed that more and more people, especially new families who had just moved here, were reaching out to us for recommendations on places to visit. We loved being able to help and share our newfound love for Arizona.

By July 2023, we decided to create an adventure page dedicated to showcasing the amazing places we visit. Traveling and exploring the outdoors has brought us closer as a family, and we hope our content inspires other families to bond and create their own adventures together.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road for us. We started this page to share our personal adventures, and it grew quickly. We’ve received amazing opportunities, and most importantly, our family business allows us to prioritize spending time together doing epic things, which is what matters most to us.

That said, there have definitely been struggles. The biggest challenge was dealing with health issues, especially during pregnancy when I was very sick and bed-ridden. Our adventures came to a halt, and I worried about how we could continue an adventure travel business when we couldn’t go out. But that struggle turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Our community was incredibly supportive throughout, and we welcomed a new little baby adventurer into our family!

We’ve also faced negativity on social media, but we focus on the positive. Every time someone messages us saying they loved our guide or visited a place we shared, it makes our day. Those moments empower us to ignore the negative comments and focus on the people we’re helping.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re a family of content creators, and our Instagram, @azfamilyguide, is all about sharing our travel and adventure experiences with kids. We specialize in discovering and showcasing kid-friendly hiking trails, road trips, and fun destinations that families can enjoy together.

We’re most proud of the connections we’ve made with other families who’ve told us how our tips and experiences have inspired their own adventures. Hearing that we’ve helped make travel more accessible and enjoyable for others means the world to us.

What sets us apart is our genuine approach and family-first focus. We’re not just sharing pretty pictures; we’re sharing real experiences from our family to yours, with all the ups and downs of traveling with kids. We want to show that it’s possible to have amazing adventures, create lasting memories, and grow closer as a family through travel.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What we love most about Phoenix is its incredible diversity and natural beauty. The city is surrounded by stunning landscapes, from mountains to deserts, offering endless opportunities for outdoor adventures. The vibrant community and rich cultural scene make it a fantastic place for families to explore and enjoy. Plus, there’s always something new to discover, whether it’s a hidden hiking trail or a family-friendly event in the city.

What we like least about Phoenix is probably the summer heat. It can be quite intense, especially for little ones. But even then, we find ways to make the most of it by exploring cooler spots like nearby lakes or planning early morning adventures to beat the heat.
