Daily Inspiration: Meet Shannon Guzman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Guzman.

Hi Shannon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our story is a bit different because my business Partner Donte Clay and I (Chef Shannon) did not know each other personally. We come from different backgrounds. I come from a Banking background, and I have also done. We have been catering for 11 years. Donte comes from a promotional/nightlife background. He messaged me one day on Instagram and said we should start a Catering Business together. He saw my passion and talent and had a passion for cooking, business, and entrepreneurship. We set up a meeting, came up with our name, menu, and goals, and 3 years later, here we are!

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some of the obstacles we have faced would be showing up to a Client’s home or Airbnb ready to cook a full menu, and there is only 1 pot or 1 pan and minimal utensils to complete the job. Somehow, we always get it done. Also, just learning the business on a larger scale, preparing food for a party of 200 plus people, and ensuring the food is still aesthetically pleasing, hot, and ready to serve on time. I have walked away from every job learning something new and always focused on what we can do better next time.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re Private Chefs offering Catering for Corporate Events, Weddings, and Small Parties. Large groups or small, we’re equipped to do it all. We Specialize in Brunch, Cajun, Mexican, Italian, and Soul Food. We’re committed to providing quality service and food that looks great and tastes fantastic.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Food With Benefits would like to credit everyone who has worked for us or helped in some way or another. No matter how big or small, I appreciate the following people for all they have done.
