Daily Inspiration: Meet Roy Alvibe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roy Alvibe.

Hi Roy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Started My Photography journey in Denver Colorado, shooting at EDM events. With a background in Art, painting murals and tattooing in the past. I fell into bodypaint Photography and started doing creative shoots from there. I have done regular portrait and car Photography in and around the time I was doing events, so I had many things going on at the same time that I did not concentrate on Art alone any longer and strayed from the core bodypaint Photography. Just became a photographer per se. When asked who painted my models, people did not realize I created and styled the entire photoshoot. I see many people involved in big Photography shoots. When I create my work, do it all alone. I style the models and paint them as my canvas, light up my work and Photograph it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest issue is finding human canvases that trust the process and are reliable. Many like the idea of being Living Art but can not show up and stay to finish projects.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I think when I became a photographer, it opened up endless possibilities to explore and create visual art from my perspective and was able to learn to express and alter perspectives of my imagination.
