Today we’d like to introduce you to Rayne Easter.
Hi Rayne , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As a child, I have always enjoyed working with hair, whether it was braiding or styling. Growing up, my father would take me to the barbershop with him, and that experience sparked a passion in me. Over time, cutting men’s hair also became a desire, especially since my dad would even let me practice by lining up the back of his neck. Later on in life, I realized this passion was more than a hobby, so I decided to pursue it professionally. With hard work and dedication, I completed barber school, passed my state board test, and became a licensed barber. Today, I am proud to be working at a five-star barbershop in San Francisco. What I love most about being a barber is that every barber has a unique style, and there is always more room to grow and improve in this craft.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
During my time in barber school and in the shop, one of my biggest challenges was pushing myself to improve the quality of my haircuts. While learning , fading was especially difficult, it takes a lot of patience and practice to get it right. Over time, I learned that I had to adjust my technique, like taking my fades higher, in order to create a smoother and more consistent blend.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
