Today we’d like to introduce you to Phillip And Kristina Preston.
Hi Phillip and Kristina , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Phil’s Glass began in 2013, when it was originally launched while still subcontracting for another company. During that time, it became clear how much the auto glass industry lacked professionalism, integrity, and quality workmanship. By 2018, the decision was made to go fully independent and build a company people could genuinely rely on. As the business continued to grow, we became so busy that I was able to leave my job in 2020 to join my husband full-time—and we’ve been building it together ever since.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
1. Delegating tasks. Learning to delegate has been a challenge. When you care deeply about your business, it’s hard to hand things off — but it’s been essential for growth.
2. Hiring people who match your standards. Finding employees who value quality and customer care the same way we do has been another hurdle. We’re very hands-on, so bringing on the right people matters more than just filling a position.
3. Balancing working in the business vs. on the business. Running the day-to-day while also making time to grow the business, build relationships, and plan ahead has been one of the biggest ongoing challenges.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Phil’s Glass, we specialize exclusively in auto glass repair, replacement & recalibration. We’re known for delivering high-quality workmanship, using trusted materials, and offering a genuinely caring customer experience. We’re a fully mobile service, so we come directly to our customers’ homes, workplaces, or fleets, making the process easy and convenient.
One thing we’re especially proud of is the reputation we’ve built for honesty and reliability. Whether a customer is going through insurance or paying out of pocket, we take the time to walk them through the process, explain their options, and make sure they feel supported from start to finish. We’re also proud to be an in-network glass shop, which allows us to work smoothly with insurance carriers and help customers get taken care of quickly.
What sets us apart is the personal touch. As a family-owned business, we truly care about every customer. We treat each vehicle like it’s our own, and we stand behind the quality of our work. Our goal isn’t just to replace glass — it’s to build lasting trust with the people and communities we serve.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to us is taking care of people. In the auto glass industry, customers often come to us stressed, overwhelmed, or unsure of what to do next — especially when insurance is involved. So our priority is making the process as simple, honest, and stress-free as possible.
Quality and integrity matter deeply to us. We believe in doing the job right the first time, using materials we trust, and treating every vehicle like it’s our own. It’s important to us that customers feel confident and safe when they drive away.
